Anas bin Malik narrated that: An older man came to talk to the Prophet, and the people were hesitant to make room for him. The Prophet said: ;He is not one of us who does not have mercy on our young and does not respect our elders.

حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ مَرْزُوقٍ الْبَصْرِيُّ، حَدَّثَنَا عُبَيْدُ بْنُ وَاقِدٍ، عَنْ زَرْبِيٍّ، قَال:‏‏‏‏ سَمِعْتُ أَنَسَ بْنَ مَالِكٍ، يَقُولُ:‏‏‏‏ جَاءَ شَيْخٌ يُرِيدُ النَّبِيَّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏فَأَبْطَأَ الْقَوْمُ عَنْهُ أَنْ يُوَسِّعُوا لَهُ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏فَقَالَ النَّبِيُّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ:‏‏‏‏ لَيْسَ مِنَّا مَنْ لَمْ يَرْحَمْ صَغِيرَنَا، ‏‏‏‏‏‏وَيُوَقِّرْ كَبِيرَنَا ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏قَالَ:‏‏‏‏ وَفِي الْبَابِ عَنْ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ عَمْرٍو، ‏‏‏‏‏‏وَأَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏وَابْنِ عَبَّاسٍ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏وَأَبِي أُمَامَةَ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏قَالَ أَبُو عِيسَى:‏‏‏‏ هَذَا حَدِيثٌ غَرِيبٌ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏وَزَرْبِيٌّ لَهُ أَحَادِيثُ مَنَاكِيرُ عَنْ أَنَسِ بْنِ مَالِكٍ وَغَيْرِهِ.

انس بن مالک رضی الله عنہ کہتے ہیں کہ ایک بوڑھا آیا، وہ نبی اکرم صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم سے ملنا چاہتا تھا، لوگوں نے اسے راستہ دینے میں دیر کی تو نبی اکرم صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم نے فرمایا: ”وہ شخص ہم میں سے نہیں ہے، جو ہمارے چھوٹوں پر مہربانی نہ کرے اور ہمارے بڑوں کی عزت نہ کرے“۔ امام ترمذی کہتے ہیں: ۱- یہ حدیث غریب ہے، ۲- راوی زربی نے انس بن مالک اور دوسرے لوگوں سے کئی منکر حدیثیں روایت کی ہیں، ۳- اس باب میں عبداللہ بن عمرو، ابوہریرہ، ابن عباس اور ابوامامہ رضی الله عنہم سے بھی احادیث آئی ہیں۔

Abdullah bin 'Amr narrated that the Messenger of Allah said: The merciful are shown mercy by Ar-Rahman. Be merciful on the earth, and you will be shown mercy from Who is above the heavens. The womb is named after Ar-Rahman, so whoever connects it, Allah connects him, and whoever severs it, Allah severs him.
