Translation

Abdullah bin Mas'ud narrated that the Messenger of Allah said: Verbally abusing the Muslim is disobedience and fighting him is disbelief. Zubaid said: I said to Abu Wa'il: 'Did you hear it from 'Abdullah?' He said: 'Yes.'

حَدَّثَنَا مَحْمُودُ بْنُ غَيْلَانَ، حَدَّثَنَا وَكِيعٌ، حَدَّثَنَا سُفْيَانُ، عَنْ زُبَيْدِ بْنِ الْحَارِثِ، عَنْ أَبِي وَائِلٍ، عَنْ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ مَسْعُودٍ، قَالَ:‏‏‏‏ قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ:‏‏‏‏ سِبَابُ الْمُسْلِمِ فُسُوقٌ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏وَقِتَالُهُ كُفْرٌ ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏قَالَ زُبَيْدٌ:‏‏‏‏ قُلْتُ لِأَبِي وَائِلٍ:‏‏‏‏ أَأَنْتَ سَمِعْتَهُ مِنْ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ ؟ قَالَ:‏‏‏‏ نَعَمْ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏قَالَ أَبُو عِيسَى:‏‏‏‏ هَذَا حَدِيثٌ حَسَنٌ صَحِيحٌ.

عبداللہ بن مسعود رضی الله عنہ کہتے ہیں کہ رسول اللہ صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم نے فرمایا: ”مسلمان کو گالی دینا فسق ہے اور اس سے جھگڑا کرنا کفر ہے“ ۱؎۔ راوی زبید بن حارث کہتے ہیں: میں نے ابووائل شقیق بن سلمہ سے پوچھا: کیا آپ نے یہ حدیث عبداللہ بن مسعود رضی الله عنہ سے سنی ہے؟ کہا: ہاں۔ امام ترمذی کہتے ہیں: یہ حدیث حسن صحیح ہے۔
