Translation

Narrated Abu Huraira: The Prophet prayed two rak`at of Zuhr prayer (instead of four) and he was told that he had prayed two rak`at only. Then he prayed two more rak`at and finished them with the Taslim followed by two prostrations.

حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو الْوَلِيدِ ، قَالَ : حَدَّثَنَا شُعْبَةُ ، عَنْ سَعْدِ بْنِ إِبْرَاهِيمَ ، عَنْ أَبِي سَلَمَةَ ، عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ ، قَالَ : صَلَّى النَّبِيُّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ الظُّهْرَ رَكْعَتَيْنِ ، فَقِيلَ : صَلَّيْتَ رَكْعَتَيْنِ فَصَلَّى رَكْعَتَيْنِ ، ثُمَّ سَلَّمَ ، ثُمَّ سَجَدَ سَجْدَتَيْنِ .

ہم سے ابوالولید ہشام بن عبدالملک نے بیان کیا، کہا کہ ہم سے شعبہ نے سعد بن ابراہیم سے بیان کیا، وہ ابوسلمہ بن عبدالرحمٰن سے، وہ ابوہریرہ رضی اللہ عنہ سے، آپ نے بتلایا کہ نبی کریم صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم نے ( ایک مرتبہ ) ظہر کی صرف دو ہی رکعتیں پڑھیں ( اور بھول سے سلام پھیر دیا ) پھر کہا گیا کہ آپ نے صرف دو ہی رکعتیں پڑھی ہیں۔ پس آپ صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم نے دو رکعتیں اور پڑھیں پھر سلام پھیرا۔ پھر دو سجدے کئے۔

Narrated `Aisha: the mother of the faithful believers: Allah's Apostle in his last illness said, Tell Abu Bakr to lead the people in the prayer. I said, If Abu Bakr stood in your place, he would not be able to make the people hear him owing to his weeping. So please order `Umar to lead the prayer. He said, Tell Abu Bakr to lead the people in the prayer. I said to Hafsa, Say to him, 'Abu Bakr is a softhearted man and if he stood in your place he would not be able to make the people hear him owing to his weeping. So order `Umar to lead the people in the prayer.' Hafsa did so but Allah's Apostle said, Keep quiet. Verily you are the companions of (Prophet) Joseph. Tell Abu Bakr to lead the people in the prayer. Hafsa said to me, I never got any good from you.

Narrated An-Nu`man bin 'Bashir: The Prophet said, Straighten your rows or Allah will alter your faces.

Narrated Anas: The Prophet said, Straighten your rows, for I see you from behind my back.'

Narrated Anas bin Malik: Once the Iqama was pronounced and Allah's Apostle faced us and said, Straighten your rows and stand closer together, for I see you from behind my back.'

Narrated Abu Huraira: The Prophet said, Martyrs are those who die because of drowning, plague, an Abdominal disease, or of being buried alive by a falling building.

And then he added, If the people knew the Reward for the Zuhr prayer in its early time, they would race for it. If they knew the reward for the `Isha' and the Fajr prayers in congregation, they would join them even if they had to crawl. If they knew the reward for the first row, they would draw lots for it.
