Abu Huraira reported: When the Messenger of Allah ( صلی ‌اللہ ‌علیہ ‌وسلم ) got up for prayer, he would say the takbir (Allah-o-Akbar) when standing, then say the takbir when bowing. then say: Allah listened to him who praised him, when coming to the erect position after bowing, then say while standing: To Thee, our Lord, be the praise , then recite the takbir when getting down for prostration, then say the takbir on raising his head, then say the takbir on prostrating himself, then say the takbir on raising his head. He would do that throughout the whole prayer till he would complete it, and he would say the takbir when he would get up at the end of two rak'as after adopting the sitting posture. Abu Huraira said: My prayer has the best resemblance amongst you with the prayer of the Messenger of Allah ( صلی ‌اللہ ‌علیہ ‌وسلم ).

حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ رَافِعٍ، حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ الرَّزَّاقِ، أَخْبَرَنَا ابْنُ جُرَيْجٍ، أَخْبَرَنِي ابْنُ شِهَابٍ، عَنْ أَبِي بَكْرِ بْنِ عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ، أَنَّهُ سَمِعَ أَبَا هُرَيْرَةَ، يَقُولُ: «كَانَ رَسُولُ اللهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ إِذَا قَامَ إِلَى الصَّلَاةِ يُكَبِّرُ حِينَ يَقُومُ، ثُمَّ يُكَبِّرُ حِينَ يَرْكَعُ» ثُمَّ يَقُولُ: «سَمِعَ اللهُ لِمَنْ حَمِدَهُ حِينَ يَرْفَعُ صُلْبَهُ مِنَ الرُّكُوعِ» ثُمَّ يَقُولُ: وَهُوَ قَائِمٌ «رَبَّنَا وَلَكَ الْحَمْدُ، ثُمَّ يُكَبِّرُ حِينَ يَهْوِي سَاجِدًا، ثُمَّ يُكَبِّرُ حِينَ يَرْفَعُ رَأْسَهُ، ثُمَّ يُكَبِّرُ حِينَ يَسْجُدُ، ثُمَّ يُكَبِّرُ حِينَ يَرْفَعُ رَأْسَهُ، ثُمَّ يَفْعَلُ مِثْلَ ذَلِكَ فِي الصَّلَاةِ كُلِّهَا حَتَّى يَقْضِيَهَا وَيُكَبِّرُ حِينَ يَقُومُ مِنَ الْمَثْنَى بَعْدَ الْجُلُوسِ» ثُمَّ يَقُولُ: أَبُو هُرَيْرَةَ «إِنِّي لَأَشْبَهُكُمْ صَلَاةً بِرَسُولِ اللهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ»

ہمیں ابن جریج نے خبر دی کہا : مجھے ابن شہاب نے ابو بکر بن عبد الرحمن سے روایت بیان کی ، انہوں نے حضرت ابو ہریرہ ‌رضی ‌اللہ ‌عنہ ‌ ‌ کو یہ کہتے ہوئے سنا : رسول اللہﷺ جب نماز کے لیے کھڑے ہوتے تو کھڑے ہوتے ہوئے تکبیر کہتے ، پھر رکوع کرتے ہوئے تکبیر کہتے ، پھر جب رکوع سے کمر اٹھاتے تو سمع الله لمن حمده کہتے ، پھر قیام کی حالت میں ربنا ولك الحمد کہتے ، پھر جب سجدہ کرنے کے لیے جھکتے تو تکبیر کہتے ، پھر جب اپنا سر اٹھاتے تو تکبیر کہتے ، پھر ( دوسرا ) سجدہ کرتے وقت تکبیر کہتے ، پھر جب ( سجدے سے ) اپنا سر اٹھاتے تو تکبیر کہتے ، آپ پوری نماز میں اسی طرح کرتے یہاں تک کہ اس کو مکمل کر لیتے اور جب دو رکعتوں سے بیٹھنے کے بعد اٹھتے تو ( اس وقت بھی ) تکبیر کہے ۔ پھر ابو ہریرہ ‌رضی ‌اللہ ‌عنہ ‌ ‌ کہتے : میں نماز میں تم سب کی نسبت رسول اللہﷺ کے ساتھ زیادہ مشابہ ہوں ۔

Ibn al-Harith reported: He had heard Abu Huraira say: The Messenger of Allah ( صلی ‌اللہ ‌علیہ ‌وسلم ) recited takbir on standing for prayer, and the rest of the hadith is like that transmitted by Ibn Juraij (recorded above), but he did not mention Abu Huraira as saying: My prayer has the best resemblance amongst you with the prayer of the Messenger of Allah ( صلی ‌اللہ ‌علیہ ‌وسلم ).

Abu Salama b. 'Abd al-Rahman reported.. When Marwan appointed Abu Huraira as his deputy in Medina, he recited takbir whenever he got up for obligatory prayer, and the rest of the hadith is the same as transmitted by Ibn Juraij (but with the addition of these words): On completing the prayer with salutation, and he turned to the people in the mosque and said....

Abu Salama reported that Abu Huraira recited takbir in prayer on all occasions of rising and kneeling. We said: O Abu Huraira, what is this takbir? He said: Verily it is the prayer of the Messenger of Allah ( صلی ‌اللہ ‌علیہ ‌وسلم ).

Suhail reported on the authority of his father that Abu Huraira used to recite takbir on all occasions of rising and bending (in prayer) and narrated that the Messenger of Allah ( صلی ‌اللہ ‌علیہ ‌وسلم ) used to do like that.

Mutarrif reported: I and 'Imran b. Husain said prayer behind 'Ali b. Abu, Talib. He recited takbir when he prostrated, and he recited takbir when he raised his head and he recited takbir while rising up (from the sitting position at the end of two rak'ahs). When we had finished our prayer, 'Imran caught hold of my hand and said: He (Hadrat Ali) has led prayer like Muhammad ( صلی ‌اللہ ‌علیہ ‌وسلم ) or he said: He in fact recalled to my mind the prayer of Muhammad (may peace be upon him.)

Ubada b. as-Samit reported from the Messenger of Allah (may peace be upon him ): He who does not recite Fatihat al-Kitab is not credited with having observed the prayer.
