Narrated Abu Hurairah: The Messenger of Allah صلی ‌اللہ ‌علیہ ‌وسلم said: The best day on which the sun has risen is Friday; on it Adam was created, on it he was expelled (from Paradise), on it his contrition was accepted, on it he died, and on it the Last Hour will take place. On Friday every beast is on the lookout from dawn to sunrise in fear of the Last Hour, but not jinn and men, and it contains a time at which no Muslim prays and asks anything from Allah but He will give it to him. Kab said: That is one day every year. So I said: It is on every Friday. Kab read the Torah and said: The Messenger of Allah صلی ‌اللہ ‌علیہ ‌وسلم has spoken the truth. Abu Hurairah said: I met Abdullah ibn Salam and told him of my meeting with Kab. Abdullah ibn Salam said: I know what time it is. Abu Hurairah said: I asked him to tell me about it. Abdullah ibn Salam said: It is at the very end of Friday. I asked: How can it be when the Messenger of Allah صلی ‌اللہ ‌علیہ ‌وسلم has said: No Muslim finds it while he is praying. . . . and this is the moment when no prayer is offered. Abdullah ibn Salam said: Has the Messenger of Allah صلی ‌اللہ ‌علیہ ‌وسلم not said: If anyone is seated waiting for the prayer, he is engaged in the prayer until he observes it. I said: Yes, it is so.

حَدَّثَنَا الْقَعْنَبِيُّ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏عَنْ مَالِكٍ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏عَنْ يَزِيدَ بْنِ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ الْهَادِ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏عَنْ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ إِبْرَاهِيمَ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏عَنْ أَبِي سَلَمَةَ بْنِ عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏قَالَ:‏‏‏‏ قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ:‏‏‏‏ خَيْرُ يَوْمٍ طَلَعَتْ فِيهِ الشَّمْسُ يَوْمُ الْجُمُعَةِ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏فِيهِ خُلِقَ آدَمُ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏وَفِيهِ أُهْبِطَ وَفِيهِ تِيبَ عَلَيْهِ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏وَفِيهِ مَاتَ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏وَفِيهِ تَقُومُ السَّاعَةُ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏وَمَا مِنْ دَابَّةٍ إِلَّا وَهِيَ مُسِيخَةٌ يَوْمَ الْجُمُعَةِ مِنْ حِينَ تُصْبِحُ حَتَّى تَطْلُعَ الشَّمْسُ شَفَقًا مِنَ السَّاعَةِ إِلَّا الْجِنَّ وَالْإِنْسَ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏وَفِيهِ سَاعَةٌ لَا يُصَادِفُهَا عَبْدٌ مُسْلِمٌ وَهُوَ يُصَلِّي يَسْأَلُ اللَّهَ حَاجَةً إِلَّا أَعْطَاهُ إِيَّاهَا . قَالَ كَعْبٌ:‏‏‏‏ ذَلِكَ فِي كُلِّ سَنَةٍ يَوْمٌ ؟ فَقُلْتُ:‏‏‏‏ بَلْ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏فِي كُلِّ جُمُعَةٍ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏قَالَ:‏‏‏‏ فَقَرَأَ كَعْبٌ التَّوْرَاةَ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏فَقَالَ:‏‏‏‏ صَدَقَ النَّبِيُّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ. قَالَ أَبُو هُرَيْرَةَ:‏‏‏‏ ثُمَّ لَقِيتُ عَبْدَ اللَّهِ بْنَ سَلَامٍ فَحَدَّثْتُهُ بِمَجْلِسِي مَعَ كَعْبٍ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏فَقَالَ عَبْدُ اللَّهِ بْنُ سَلَامٍ:‏‏‏‏ قَدْ عَلِمْتُ أَيَّةَ سَاعَةٍ هِيَ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏قَالَ أَبُو هُرَيْرَةَ:‏‏‏‏ فَقُلْتُ لَهُ:‏‏‏‏ فَأَخْبِرْنِي بِهَا، ‏‏‏‏‏‏فَقَالَ عَبْدُ اللَّهِ بْنُ سَلَامٍ:‏‏‏‏ هِيَ آخِرُ سَاعَةٍ مِنْ يَوْمِ الْجُمُعَةِ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏فَقُلْتُ:‏‏‏‏ كَيْفَ هِيَ آخِرُ سَاعَةٍ مِنْ يَوْمِ الْجُمُعَةِ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏وَقَدْ قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ:‏‏‏‏ لَا يُصَادِفُهَا عَبْدٌ مُسْلِمٌ وَهُوَ يُصَلِّي وَتِلْكَ السَّاعَةُ لَا يُصَلِّي فِيهَا ؟ فَقَالَ عَبْدُ اللَّهِ بْنُ سَلَامٍ:‏‏‏‏ أَلَمْ يَقُلْ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ:‏‏‏‏ مَنْ جَلَسَ مَجْلِسًا يَنْتَظِرُ الصَّلَاةَ فَهُوَ فِي صَلَاةٍ حَتَّى يُصَلِّيَ ؟ قَالَ:‏‏‏‏ فَقُلْتُ:‏‏‏‏ بَلَى، ‏‏‏‏‏‏قَالَ:‏‏‏‏ هُوَ ذَاكَ.

ابوہریرہ رضی اللہ عنہ کہتے ہیں کہ رسول اللہ صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم نے فرمایا: بہتر دن جس میں سورج طلوع ہوا جمعہ کا دن ہے، اسی دن آدم پیدا لیے گئے، اسی دن وہ زمین پر اتارے گئے، اسی دن ان کی توبہ قبول کی گئی، اسی دن ان کا انتقال ہوا، اور اسی دن قیامت برپا ہو گی، انس و جن کے علاوہ سبھی جاندار جمعہ کے دن قیامت برپا ہونے کے ڈر سے صبح سے سورج نکلنے تک کان لگائے رہتے ہیں، اس میں ایک ساعت ( گھڑی ) ایسی ہے کہ اگر کوئی مسلمان بندہ نماز پڑھتے ہوئے اس گھڑی کو پا لے، پھر اللہ تعالیٰ سے اپنی کسی ضرورت کا سوال کرے تو اللہ اس کو ( ضرور ) دے گا ۔ کعب الاحبار نے کہا: یہ ساعت ( گھڑی ) ہر سال میں کسی ایک دن ہوتی ہے تو میں نے کہا: نہیں بلکہ ہر جمعہ میں ہوتی ہے پھر کعب نے تورات پڑھی اور کہا: نبی اکرم صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم نے سچ فرمایا، ابوہریرہ رضی اللہ عنہ کہتے ہیں: پھر میں عبداللہ بن سلام رضی اللہ عنہ سے ملا، اور کعب کے ساتھ اپنی اس مجلس کے متعلق انہیں بتایا تو آپ نے کہا: وہ کون سی ساعت ہے؟ مجھے معلوم ہے، میں نے ان سے کہا: اسے مجھے بھی بتائیے تو عبداللہ بن سلام رضی اللہ عنہ نے کہا: وہ جمعہ کے دن کی آخری ساعت ( گھڑی ) ہے، میں نے عرض کیا: وہ جمعہ کے دن کی آخری ساعت ( گھڑی ) کیسے ہو سکتی ہے؟ جب کہ رسول اللہ صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم کا ارشاد ہے کہ: کوئی مسلمان بندہ اس وقت کو اس حال میں پائے کہ وہ نماز پڑھ رہا ہو ، اور اس وقت میں نماز تو نہیں پڑھی جاتی ہے تو اس پر عبداللہ بن سلام رضی اللہ عنہ نے کہا: کیا رسول اللہ صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم نے یہ نہیں فرمایا: جو شخص نماز کے انتظار میں بیٹھا رہے، وہ حکماً نماز ہی میں رہتا ہے جب تک کہ وہ نماز نہ پڑھ لے ، ابوہریرہ رضی اللہ عنہ کہتے ہیں: میں نے کہا: کیوں نہیں، رسول اللہ صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم نے تو یہ فرمایا ہے، انہوں نے کہا: تو اس سے مراد یہی ہے ۱؎۔

Narrated Aws ibn Aws: The Prophet صلی ‌اللہ ‌علیہ ‌وسلم said: Among the most excellent of your days is Friday; on it Adam was created, on it he died, on it the last trumpet will be blown, and on it the shout will be made, so invoke more blessings on me that day, for your blessings will be submitted to me. The people asked: Messenger of Allah, how can it be that our blessings will be submitted to you while your body is decayed? He replied: Allah, the Exalted, has prohibited the earth from consuming the bodies of Prophets.

Narrated Jabir ibn Abdullah: The Prophet صلی ‌اللہ ‌علیہ ‌وسلم said: Friday is divided into twelve hours. Amongst them there is an hour in which a Muslim does not ask Allah for anything but He gives it to him. So seek it in the last hour after the afternoon prayer.

Abu Burdah bin Abl Musa al-Asha’ri said: Abdullah bin Umar said to me: Did you hear your father narrating a tradition from the Messenger of Allah صلی ‌اللہ ‌علیہ ‌وسلم about an hour on Friday (when supplication is accepted by Allah)? I said: Yes, I heard it. I heard the Messenger of Allah صلی ‌اللہ ‌علیہ ‌وسلم say: This hour is found during the period when the imam is seated (for giving Friday sermon) until the prayer is finished. Abu Dawud said: By sitting is meant sitting on the pulpit

If anyone performs ablution, doing it well, then come to the Friday prayer, listens and keeps silence, his sins between that time and the next Friday will be forgiven, with three days extra; but he who touches pebbles has caused an interruption.

Narrated Ali ibn Abu Talib: Ali said on the pulpit in the mosque of Kufah: When Friday comes, the devils go to the markets with their flags, and involve people in their needs and prevent them from the Friday prayer. The angels come early in the morning, sit at the door of the mosque, and record that so-and-so came at the first hour, and so-and-so came at the second hour until the imam comes out (for preaching). When a man sits in a place where he can listen (to the sermon) and look (at the imam), where he remains silent and does not interrupt, he will receive a double reward. If he stays away, sits in a place where he cannot listen (to the sermon), silent, and does not interrupt, he will receive the reward only once. If he sits in a place where he can listen (to the sermon) and look (at the imam), and he does not remain silent, he will have the burden of it. If anyone says to his companion sitting besides him to be silent (while the imam is preaching), he is guilty of idle talk. Anyone who interrupts (during the sermon) will receive nothing (no reward) on that Friday. Then he (the narrator) says in the end of this tradition: I heard the Messenger of Allah صلی ‌اللہ ‌علیہ ‌وسلم say so. Abu Dawud said: This tradition has been narrated by al-Walid bin Muslim from Ibn Jabir. This version adds: bi'l-raba'ith (instead of al-raba'ith, needs preventing the people from prayer). Further, this adds: Freed slave of his wife Umm Uthman bin Ata.

Narrated Al-Ja'd ad-Damri: The Prophet صلی ‌اللہ ‌علیہ ‌وسلم said: He who leaves the Friday prayer (continuously) for three Friday on account of slackness, Allah will print a stamp on his heart.
