Narrated Ibn Shihab: Yunus asked Ibn Shihab about the address of the Messenger of Allah صلی ‌اللہ ‌علیہ ‌وسلم on Friday. He mentioned it in like manner. He added: Anyone who disobeys them (Allah and His Messenger) goes astray. We beseech Allah, our Lord, to make us from those who obey Him and obey His Messenger, and follow what He likes, and abstain from His anger; we are due to Him and we belong to Him.

حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ سَلَمَةَ الْمُرَادِيُّ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏أَخْبَرَنَا ابْنُ وَهْبٍ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏عَنْ يُونُسَ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏أَنَّهُ سَأَلَ ابْنَ شِهَابٍ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏عَنْ تَشَهُّدِ رَسُولِ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ يَوْمَ الْجُمُعَةِ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏فَذَكَرَ نَحْوَهُ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏قَالَ:‏‏‏‏ وَمَنْ يَعْصِهِمَا فَقَدْ غَوَى، ‏‏‏‏‏‏وَنَسْأَلُ اللَّهَ رَبَّنَا أَنْ يَجْعَلَنَا مِمَّنْ يُطِيعُهُ وَيُطِيعُ رَسُولَهُ وَيَتَّبِعُ رِضْوَانَهُ وَيَجْتَنِبُ سَخَطَهُ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏فَإِنَّمَا نَحْنُ بِهِ وَلَهُ.

یونس سے روایت ہے کہ انہوں نے ابن شہاب ( زہری ) سے جمعہ کے دن رسول اللہ صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم کے خطبہ کے متعلق پوچھا تو انہوں نے اسی مفہوم کی حدیث ذکر کی اور اس میں اتنا اضافہ کیا: «ومن يعصهما فقد غوى ‏ ‏ ‏.‏ ونسأل الله ربنا أن يجعلنا ممن يطيعه ويطيع رسوله ويتبع رضوانه ويجتنب سخطه فإنما نحن به وله» جس نے ان دونوں کی نافرمانی کی وہ گمراہ ہو گیا، ہم اللہ تعالیٰ سے جو ہمارا رب ہے یہ چاہتے ہیں کہ ہم کو اپنی اور اپنے رسول کی اطاعت کرنے والوں اور اس کی رضا مندی ڈھونڈھنے والوں اور اس کے غصے سے پرہیز کرنے والوں میں سے بنا لے کیونکہ ہم اسی کی وجہ سے ہیں اور اسی کے لیے ہیں ۔

Adi bin Hatim said: A speaker delivered a speech in the presence of the Prophet صلی ‌اللہ ‌علیہ ‌وسلم. He said: Anyone who obeys Allah and His Messenger, and one who disobeys them. He said: Go away, you are a bad speaker.

Bint al-Harith bin al-Numan said: I memorized Surah al-Qaf from the mouth of the Messenger of Allah صلی ‌اللہ ‌علیہ ‌وسلم; he would recite it in his speech on every friday. Our oven and his oven were same. Abu Dawud said: Rawh bin Ubadah reported on the authority of Shubah the name Bint Harithah bin al-Numan ; and Ibn Ishaq reported the name of Umm Hisham hint Harithah bin al-Numan.

Jabir bin Samurah said: The prayer offered by the Messenger of Allah صلی ‌اللہ ‌علیہ ‌وسلم was moderate, and the sermon given by him was (also) moderate. He would recite a few verses from the Quran and exhort the people.

Umrah reported on the authority of her sister: I memorized Surah al-Qaf from the mouth of the Messenger of Allah صلی ‌اللہ ‌علیہ ‌وسلم; he used to recite it on every friday. Abu Dawud said: This tradition has been narrated in a similar way by Yahya bin Ayyub, Ibn Abu Ar-Rijal, from Yahya bin Saeed, from Umrah from Umm Hisham hint Harithah bin al-Numan.

This tradition has also been transmitted to the same effect through a different chain of narrators by Umrah from her sister Umrah daughter of Abdur-Rahman who was older than her.

Umarah bin Ruwaibah said that he saw Bishr bin Marwan (on the pulpit) praying on Friday (by raising his hands). Umarah said: May Allah reject these hands! I have seen the Messenger of Allah صلی ‌اللہ ‌علیہ ‌وسلم on the pulpit gesturing no more than this pointing with his forefinger.
