Translation

Anas reported the Messenger of Allah صلی ‌اللہ ‌علیہ ‌وسلم as saying: Anyone who is pleased that his sustenance is expanded and his age extended should do kindness to his near relatives.

حَدَّثَنَا أَحْمَدُ بْنُ صَالِحٌ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏وَيَعْقُوبُ بْنُ كَعْبٍ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏وَهَذَا حَدِيثُهُ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏قَالَا:‏‏‏‏ حَدَّثَنَا ابْنُ وَهْبٍ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏قَالَ:‏‏‏‏ أَخْبَرَنِي يُونُسُ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏عَنْ الزُّهْرِيِّ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏عَنْ أَنَسٍ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏قَالَ:‏‏‏‏ قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ:‏‏‏‏ مَنْ سَرَّهُ أَنْ يُبْسَطَ عَلَيْهِ فِي رِزْقِهِ وَيُنْسَأَ فِي أَثَرِهِ فَلْيَصِلْ رَحِمَهُ .

انس رضی اللہ عنہ کہتے ہیں کہ رسول اللہ صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم نے فرمایا: جس کے لیے یہ بات باعث مسرت ہو کہ اس کے رزق میں اور عمر میں درازی ہو جائے تو اسے چاہیئے کہ وہ صلہ رحمی کرے ( یعنی قرابت داروں کا خیال رکھے ) ۔

Narrated Abdur Rahman ibn Awf: I heard the Messenger of Allah صلی ‌اللہ ‌علیہ ‌وسلم say: Allah the Exalted has said: I am Compassionate, and this has been derived from mercy. I have derived its name from My name. If anyone joins it, I shall join him, and if anyone cuts it off, I shall cut him off.

The above mentioned tradition has also been narrated by Abdur-Rahman bin Awf from the Messenger of Allah صلی ‌اللہ ‌علیہ ‌وسلم through a different chain of narrators to the same effect.

Jubair bin Mutim reported on the authority of his father: The Prophet صلی ‌اللہ ‌علیہ ‌وسلم said: Anyone who cuts off relationship from his nearest relatives will not enter Paradise.

Abdullah bin Amr said: (Sufyan said: The version of the narrator Sulaiman does not go back to The Prophet صلی ‌اللہ ‌علیہ ‌وسلم. Fitr and al-Hasan reported from him ): The Messenger of Allah صلی ‌اللہ ‌علیہ ‌وسلم said: One who compensates is not a man who unites relationship: but the man who unites relationship is the one who joins it when the relationship is cut off.

Narrated Abdullah ibn Amr ibn al-As: The Messenger of Allah صلی ‌اللہ ‌علیہ ‌وسلم preached and said: Abstain from avarice, for those who had been before you were annihilated due to avarice. It (avarice) commanded them to show niggardliness; it commanded them to cut off their relationship with their nearest relatives, so they cut off. It commanded them to show profligacy, so they showed it.

Asma, daughter of Abu Bakr, said: I said: Messenger of Allah صلی ‌اللہ ‌علیہ ‌وسلم, I have nothing of my own except what al-Zubair (her husband) brings to me in his house: should I spend out of it? He said: Give and do not hoard so your sustenance will be hoarded.
