Al Miswar bin Makhramah said: The Messenger of Allah صلی ‌اللہ ‌علیہ ‌وسلم came out in the year of al-Hudaibbiyyah with over ten hundreds of Companions and when he came to Dhu al Hulaifah. He garlanded and marked the sacrificial animals, and entered the sacred state of Umrah. He then went on with the tradition. The Prophet moved on and when he came to the mountain, pass by which one descends (to Makkah) to them, his riding-beast knelt down, and the people said twice: Go on, go on, al-Qaswa has become jaded. The Prophet صلی ‌اللہ ‌علیہ ‌وسلم said: She has not become jaded and that is not a characteristic of hers, but He Who restrained the elephant has restrained her. He then said: By Him in Whose hand my soul is, they will not ask any me good thing by which they honor which God has made sacred without my giving them it. He then urged her and she leaped up and he turned aside from them, and stopped at the farthest side of al-Hudaibiyyah at a pool with little water. Meanwhile Budail bin Warqa al-Khuza’I came, and Urwah bin Masud joined him. He began to speak to the Prophet صلی ‌اللہ ‌علیہ ‌وسلم. Whenever he spoke to the Prophet صلی ‌اللہ ‌علیہ ‌وسلم, he caught his beard. Al Mughriah bin Shubah was standing beside the Prophet صلی ‌اللہ ‌علیہ ‌وسلم. He had a sword with him, wearing a helmet. He (Al Mughriah) struck his (Urwah’s) hand with the lower end of his sheath, and said: Keep away your hand from his beard. Urwah then raised his hand and asked: Who is this? They replied: Al-Mughirah bin Shubah. He said: O treacherous one! Did I not use my offices in your treachery? In pre-Islamic days Al-Mughirah bin Shubah accompanied some people and murdered them, and took their property. He then came (to the Prophet) and embraced Islam. The Prophet صلی ‌اللہ ‌علیہ ‌وسلم said: As for Islam we accepted it, but as to the property, as it has been taken by treachery, we have no need of it. He went on with the tradition the Prophet صلی ‌اللہ ‌علیہ ‌وسلم said: Write down: This is what Muhammad, the Messenger of Allah, has decided. He then narrated the tradition. Suhail then said: And that a man will not come to you from us, even if he follows your religion, without you sending him back to us. When he finished drawing up the document, the Prophet صلی ‌اللہ ‌علیہ ‌وسلم said to his Companions: Get up and sacrifice and then shave. Thereafter some believing women who were immigrants came. (Allah sent down: O yea who believe, when believing women come to you as emigrants). Allah most high forbade them to send them back, but ordered them to restore the dower. He then returned to Madina. Abu Basir a man from the Quraish (who was a Muslim), came to him. And they sent (two men) to look for him; so he handed him over to the two men. They took him away, and when they reached Dhu Al Hulaifah and alighted to eat some dates which they had, Abu Basir said to one of the men: I swear by Allah so-and-so, that I think this sword of yours is a fine one; the other drew the sword and said: Yes I have tried it. Abu Basir said: Let me look at it. He let him have it and he struck him till he died, whereupon the other fled and came to Madina, and running entered the mosque. The Prophet صلی ‌اللہ ‌علیہ ‌وسلم said: This man has seen something frightful. He said: I swear by Allah that my Companion has been killed, and im as good as dead. Abu Basir then arrived and said: Allah has fulfilled your covenant. You returned me to them, but Allah saved me from them. The Prophet صلی ‌اللہ ‌علیہ ‌وسلم said: Woe to his mother, stirrer up of war! Would that he had someone (i. e. some kinsfolk). When he heard that he knew that he would send him back to them, so he went out and came to the seashore. Abu Jandal escaped and joined Abu Basir till a band of them collected.

حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ عُبَيْدٍ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏أَنَّ مُحَمَّدَ بْنَ ثَوْرٍ حدَّثَهُمْ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏عَنْ مَعْمَرٍ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏عَنْ الزُّهْرِيِّ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏عَنْ عُرْوَةَ بْنِ الزُّبَيْرِ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏عَنْ الْمِسْوَرِ بْنِ مَخْرَمَةَ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏قَالَ:‏‏‏‏ خَرَجَ النَّبِيُّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ زَمَنَ الْحُدَيْبِيَةِ فِي بِضْعَ عَشْرَةَ مِائَةً مِنْ أَصْحَابِهِ حَتَّى إِذَا كَانُوا بِذِي الْحُلَيْفَةِ قَلَّدَ الْهَدْيَ وَأَشْعَرَهُ وَأَحْرَمَ بِالْعُمْرَةِ وَسَاقَ الْحَدِيثَ قَالَ:‏‏‏‏ وَسَارَ النَّبِيُّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ حَتَّى إِذَا كَانَ بِالثَّنِيَّةِ الَّتِي يُهْبِطُ عَلَيْهِمْ مِنْهَا بَرَكَتْ بِهِ رَاحِلَتُهُ فَقَالَ النَّاسُ:‏‏‏‏ حَلْ حَلْ خَلَأَتِ الْقَصْوَاءُ مَرَّتَيْنِ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏فَقَالَ النَّبِيُّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ:‏‏‏‏ مَا خَلَأَتْ وَمَا ذَلِكَ لَهَا بِخُلُقٍ وَلَكِنْ حَبَسَهَا حَابِسُ الْفِيلِ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏ثُمَّ قَالَ:‏‏‏‏ وَالَّذِي نَفْسِي بِيَدِهِ لَا يَسْأَلُونِي الْيَوْمَ خُطَّةً يُعَظِّمُونَ بِهَا حُرُمَاتِ اللَّهِ إِلَّا أَعْطَيْتُهُمْ إِيَّاهَا، ‏‏‏‏‏‏ثُمَّ زَجَرَهَا فَوَثَبَتْ فَعَدَلَ عَنْهُمْ حَتَّى نَزَلَ بِأَقْصَى الْحُدَيْبِيَةِ عَلَى ثَمَدٍ قَلِيلِ الْمَاءِ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏فَجَاءَهُ بُدَيْلُ بْنُ وَرْقَاءَ الْخُزَاعِيُّ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏ثُمَّ أَتَاهُ يَعْنِي عُرْوَةَ بْنَ مَسْعُودٍ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏فَجَعَلَ يُكَلِّمُ النَّبِيَّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ فَكُلَّمَا كَلَّمَهُ أَخَذَ بِلِحْيَتِهِ والْمُغِيَرةُ بْنُ شُعْبَةَ قَائِمٌ عَلَى النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ وَمَعَهُ السَّيْفُ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏وَعَلَيْهِ الْمِغْفَرُ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏فَضَرَبَ يَدَهُ بِنَعْلِ السَّيْفِ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏وَقَالَ:‏‏‏‏ أَخِّرْ يَدَكَ عَنْ لِحْيَتِهِ فَرَفَعَ عُرْوَةُ رَأْسَهُ فَقَالَ:‏‏‏‏ مَنْ هَذَا ؟ قَالُوا:‏‏‏‏ الْمُغِيرَةُ بْنُ شُعْبَةَ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏فَقَالَ:‏‏‏‏ أَيْ غُدَرُ أَوَلَسْتُ أَسْعَى فِي غَدْرَتِكَ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏وَكَانَ الْمُغِيرَةُ صَحِبَ قَوْمًا فِي الْجَاهِلِيَّةِ فَقَتَلَهُمْ وَأَخَذَ أَمْوَالَهُمْ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏ثُمَّ جَاءَ فَأَسْلَمَ فَقَالَ النَّبِيُّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ:‏‏‏‏ أَمَّا الْإِسْلَامُ فَقَدْ قَبِلْنَا، ‏‏‏‏‏‏وَأَمَّا الْمَالُ فَإِنَّهُ مَالُ غَدْرٍ لَا حَاجَةَ لَنَا فِيهِ فَذَكَرَ الْحَدِيثَ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏فَقَالَ النَّبِيُّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ:‏‏‏‏ اكْتُبْ هَذَا مَا قَاضَى عَلَيْهِ مُحَمَّدٌ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏وَقَصَّ الْخَبَرَ فَقَالَ سُهَيْلٌ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏وَعَلَى:‏‏‏‏ أَنَّهُ لَا يَأْتِيكَ مِنَّا رَجُلٌ وَإِنْ كَانَ عَلَى دِينِكَ إِلَّا رَدَدْتَهُ إِلَيْنَا، ‏‏‏‏‏‏فَلَمَّا فَرَغَ مِنْ قَضِيَّةِ الْكِتَابِ قَالَ النَّبِيُّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ لِأَصْحَابِهِ:‏‏‏‏ قُومُوا فَانْحَرُوا، ‏‏‏‏‏‏ثُمَّ احْلِقُوا، ‏‏‏‏‏‏ثُمَّ جَاءَ نِسْوَةٌ مُؤْمِنَاتٌ مُهَاجِرَاتٌ الْآيَةَ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏فَنَهَاهُمُ اللَّهُ أَنْ يَرُدُّوهُنَّ وَأَمَرَهُمْ أَنْ يَرُدُّوا الصَّدَاقَ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏ثُمَّ رَجَعَ إِلَى الْمَدِينَةِ فَجَاءَهُ أَبُو بَصِيرٍ رَجُلٌ مِنْ قُرَيْشٍ يَعْنِي فَأَرْسَلُوا فِي طَلَبِهِ فَدَفَعَهُ إِلَى الرَّجُلَيْنِ فَخَرَجَا بِهِ حَتَّى إِذْ بَلَغَا ذَا الْحُلَيْفَةِ نَزَلُوا يَأْكُلُونَ مِنْ تَمْرٍ لَهُمْ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏فَقَالَ أَبُو بَصِيرٍ لِأَحَدِ الرَّجُلَيْنِ:‏‏‏‏ وَاللَّهِ إِنِّي لَأَرَى سَيْفَكَ هَذَا يَا فُلَانُ جَيِّدًا، ‏‏‏‏‏‏فَاسْتَلَّهُ الْآخَرُ فَقَالَ:‏‏‏‏ أَجَلْ قَدْ جَرَّبْتُ بِهِ فَقَالَ أَبُو بَصِيرٍ:‏‏‏‏ أَرِنِي أَنْظُرْ إِلَيْهِ فَأَمْكَنَهُ مِنْهُ فَضَرَبَهُ حَتَّى بَرَدَ وَفَرَّ الْآخَرُ حَتَّى أَتَى الْمَدِينَةَ فَدَخَلَ الْمَسجِدَ يَعْدُو، ‏‏‏‏‏‏فَقَالَ النَّبِيُّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ:‏‏‏‏ لَقَدْ رَأَى هَذَا ذُعْرًا فَقَالَ:‏‏‏‏ قَدْ قُتِلَ وَاللَّهِ صَاحِبِي وَإِنِّي لَمَقْتُولٌ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏فَجَاءَ أَبُو بَصِيرٍ فَقَالَ:‏‏‏‏ قَدْ أَوْفَى اللَّهُ ذِمَّتَكَ فَقَدْ رَدَدْتَنِي إِلَيْهِمْ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏ثُمَّ نَجَّانِي اللَّهُ مِنْهُمْ فَقَالَ النَّبِيُّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ:‏‏‏‏ وَيْلَ أُمِّهِ مِسْعَرَ حَرْبٍ لَوْ كَانَ لَهُ أَحَدٌ فَلَمَّا سَمِعَ ذَلِكَ عَرَفَ أَنَّهُ سَيَرُدُّهُ إِلَيْهِمْ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏فَخَرَجَ حَتَّى أَتَى سَيْفَ الْبَحْرِ وَيَنْفَلِتُ أَبُو جَنْدَلٍ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏فَلَحِقَ بِأَبِي بَصِيرٍ حَتَّى اجْتَمَعَتْ مِنْهُمْ عِصَابَةٌ .

مسور بن مخرمہ رضی اللہ عنہ کہتے ہیں کہ نبی اکرم صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم حدیبیہ کے سال ایک ہزار سے زائد صحابہ کے ہمراہ نکلے، جب آپ صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم ذوالحلیفہ پہنچے تو ہدی کو قلادہ پہنایا، اور اشعار کیا، اور عمرہ کا احرام باندھا، پھر راوی نے پوری حدیث بیان کی، اس میں ہے: اور نبی کریم صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم وہاں سے چلے یہاں تک کہ جب ثنیہ میں جہاں سے مکہ میں اترتے ہیں پہنچے تو آپ صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم کی اونٹنی آپ کو لے کر بیٹھ گئی، لوگوں نے کہا: حل حل ۱؎ قصواء اڑ گئی، قصواء اڑ گئی، آپ صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم نے فرمایا: قصواء اڑی نہیں اور نہ ہی اس کو اڑنے کی عادت ہے، لیکن اس کو ہاتھی کے روکنے والے نے روک دیا ہے ، پھر آپ صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم نے فرمایا: قسم ہے اس ذات کی جس کے ہاتھ میں میری جان ہے قریش جو چیز بھی مجھ سے طلب کریں گے جس میں اللہ کے حرمات کی تعظیم ہوتی ہو تو وہ میں ان کو دوں گا ، پھر آپ صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم نے اونٹنی کو ڈانٹ کر اٹھایا تو وہ اٹھی اور آپ ایک طرف ہوئے یہاں تک کہ میدان حدیبیہ کے آخری سرے پر ایک جگہ جہاں تھوڑا سا پانی تھا جا اترے، تو آپ صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم کے پاس بدیل بن ورقاء خزاعی آیا، پھر وہ یعنی عروہ بن مسعود ثقفی آپ صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم کے پاس آیا اور آپ سے گفتگو کرنے لگا، گفتگو میں عروہ باربار آپ کی ریش مبارک کو ہاتھ لگاتا، مغیرہ بن شعبہ رضی اللہ عنہ نبی اکرم صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم کے پاس کھڑے تھے، وہ تلوار لیے ہوئے اور زرہ پہنے ہوئے تھے، انہوں نے عروہ کے ہاتھ پر تلوار کی کاٹھی ماری اور کہا: نبی اکرم صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم کی داڑھی سے اپنا ہاتھ دور رکھ، تو عروہ نے اپنا سر اٹھایا اور پوچھا: یہ کون ہے؟ لوگوں نے کہا: مغیرہ بن شعبہ ہیں، اس پر عروہ نے کہا: اے بدعہد! کیا میں نے تیری عہد شکنی کی اصلاح میں سعی نہیں کی؟ اور وہ واقعہ یوں ہے کہ مغیرہ رضی اللہ عنہ نے زمانہ جاہلیت میں چند لوگوں کو اپنے ساتھ لیا تھا، پھر ان کو قتل کیا اور ان کے مال لوٹے ۲؎ پھر نبی اکرم صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم کے پاس آ کر مسلمان ہو گئے، نبی اکرم صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم نے فرمایا: رہا اسلام تو ہم نے اسے قبول کیا، اور رہا مال تو ہمیں اس کی ضرورت نہیں ۳؎ اس کے بعد مسور رضی اللہ عنہ نے آخر تک حدیث بیان کی۔ نبی اکرم صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم نے فرمایا: لکھو، یہ وہ صلح نامہ ہے جس پر محمد رسول اللہ صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم نے مصالحت کی ہے ، پھر پورا قصہ بیان کیا۔ سہیل نے کہا: اور اس بات پر بھی کہ جو کوئی قریش میں سے آپ کے پاس آئے گا گو وہ مسلمان ہو کر آیا ہو تو آپ اسے ہماری طرف واپس کر دیں گے، پھر جب آپ صلح نامہ لکھا کر فارغ ہوئے تو آپ صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم نے اپنے صحابہ سے فرمایا: اٹھو اور اونٹ نحر ( ذبح ) کرو، پھر سر منڈا ڈالو ، پھر مکہ کی کچھ عورتیں مسلمان ہو کر مسلمانوں کے پاس ہجرت کر کے آئیں، اللہ تعالیٰ نے ان کو واپس کر دینے سے منع فرمایا اور حکم دیا کہ جو مہر ان کے کافر شوہروں نے انہیں دیا تھا انہیں واپس کر دیں۔ پھر آپ صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم مدینہ واپس آئے تو ایک شخص قریش میں سے جس کا نام ابوبصیر تھا، آپ کے پاس مسلمان ہو کر آ گیا، قریش نے اس کو واپس لانے کے لیے دو آدمی بھیجے، آپ صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم نے ابوبصیر کو ان کے حوالہ کر دیا، وہ ابوبصیر کو ساتھ لے کر نکلے، جب وہ ذوالحلیفہ پہنچے تو اتر کر اپنی کھجوریں کھانے لگے، ابوبصیر نے ان دونوں میں سے ایک کی تلوار دیکھ کر کہا: اللہ کی قسم! تمہاری تلوار بہت ہی عمدہ ہے، اس نے میان سے نکال کر کہا: ہاں میں اس کو آزما چکا ہوں، ابوبصیر نے کہا: مجھے دکھاؤ ذرا میں بھی تو دیکھوں، اس قریشی نے اس تلوار کو ابوبصیر کے ہاتھ میں دے دی، تو انہوں نے ( اسی تلوار سے ) اسے مارا یہاں تک کہ وہ ٹھنڈا ہو گیا، ( یہ دیکھ کر ) دوسرا ساتھی بھاگ کھڑا ہوا یہاں تک کہ وہ مدینہ واپس آ گیا اور دوڑتے ہوئے مسجد میں جا گھسا۔ نبی اکرم صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم نے فرمایا: یہ ڈر گیا ہے ، وہ بولا: قسم اللہ کی! میرا ساتھی مارا گیا اور میں بھی مارا جاؤں گا، اتنے میں ابوبصیر آ پہنچے اور بولے: اللہ کے رسول! آپ نے اپنا عہد پورا کیا، مجھے کافروں کے حوالہ کر دیا، پھر اللہ نے مجھے ان سے نجات دی، آپ صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم نے فرمایا: تباہی ہو اس کی ماں کے لیے، عجب لڑائی کو بھڑکانے والا ہے، اگر اس کا کوئی ساتھی ہوتا ، ابوبصیر نے جب یہ سنا تو سمجھ گئے کہ آپ صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم پھر انہیں ان کے حوالہ کر دیں گے، چنانچہ وہ وہاں سے نکل کھڑے ہوئے اور سمندر کے کنارے پر آ گئے اور ( ابوجندل جو صلح کے بعد آپ صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم کے پاس آئے تھے لیکن آپ نے انہیں واپس کر دیا تھا ) کافروں کی قید سے اپنے آپ کو چھڑا کر ابوبصیر سے آ ملے یہاں تک کہ وہاں ان کی ایک جماعت بن گئی۔

Narrated Dhu Mikhbar: Hassan ibn Atiyyah said: Makhul and Ibn Zakariyya went to Khalid ibn Madan, and I also went along with them. He reported a tradition on the authority of Jubayr ibn Nufayr. He said: Go with us to Dhu Mikhbar, a man from the Companions of the Prophet صلی ‌اللہ ‌علیہ ‌وسلم. We came to him and Jubayr asked him about peace. He said: I heard the Messenger of Allah صلی ‌اللہ ‌علیہ ‌وسلم say: You will make a secure peace with the Byzantines, then you and they will fight an enemy behind you.

Jabir reported: The Messenger of Allah صلی ‌اللہ ‌علیہ ‌وسلم said: Who will pursue Kaab bin Al-Ashraf, for he has caused trouble to Allah and His Messenger? Muhammad bin Maslamah stood up and said: I (shall do), Messenger of Allah. Do you want that I should kill him? He said: Yes. He said: So permit me to say something (against you). He said: Yes say. He then came to him (Kaab bin al-Ashraf) and said to him: This man has asked us for sadaqah (alms) and has put us into trouble. He (Kaab) said: You will be more grieved. He (Muhammad bin Maslamah) said: We have followed him and we do not like to forsake him until we see what will be the consequences of his matter. We wished if you could lend us one or two wasqs. Kaab said: What will you mortgage with me? He asked: what do you want from us? He replied: your Women. They said: Glory be to Allah: You are the most beautiful of the Arabs. If we mortgage our women with you, that will be a disgrace for us. He said “The mortgage your children. ” They said “Glory be to Allaah, a son of us may abuse saying “You were mortgaged for one or two wasqs. ” They said “We shall mortgage or coat of mail with you. By this he meant arms”. He said “Yes, when he came to him, he called him and he came out while he used perfume and his head was spreading fragrance. When he at with him and he came there accompanied by three or four persons who mentioned his perfume. He said “I have such and such woman with me. She is most fragrant of the women among the people. He (Muhammad bin Maslamah) asked “Do you permit me so that I may smell? He said “Yes. He then entered his hand through his hair and smell it. ” He said “May I repeat?” He said “Yes. He again entered his hand through his hair. When he got his complete control, he said “Take him. So he struck him until they killed him. ”

Narrated Abu Hurairah: The Prophet صلی ‌اللہ ‌علیہ ‌وسلم said: Faith prevented assassination. A believer should not assassinate.

Abdullah bin Umar said “When the Messenger of Allah صلی ‌اللہ ‌علیہ ‌وسلم returned from an expedition, Hajj or ‘Umrah on every rising piece of ground he would say three times “Allaah is Most Great” and he would say “There is no god bt Allaah alone who has no partner, to Whom the dominion belongs, to Whom praise is due, and Who is Omnipotent, serving, prostrating ourselves before our Lord and expressing praise. Allaah alone has kept his word, helped His servant and routed the confederate.

Ibn Abbas said “The verse “Those who believe in Allaah and the Last Day ask thee for no exemption from fighting with their goods and persons” was abrogated by the verse “Only those are believers who believe in Allaah and His Messenger. . . . For Allaah is Oft-Forgiving, Most Merciful. ”
