Narrated Bilal: The Messenger of Allah صلی ‌اللہ ‌علیہ ‌وسلم said to Bilal: Do not call adhan until the dawn appears clearly to you in this way, stretching his hand in latitude. Abu Dawud said: Shaddad did not see Bilal.

حَدَّثَنَا زُهَيْرُ بْنُ حَرْبٍ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏حَدَّثَنَا وَكِيعٌ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏حَدَّثَنَا جَعْفَرُ بْنُ بُرْقَانَ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏عَنْ شَدَّادٍ مَوْلَى عِيَاضِ بْنِ عَامِرٍ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏عَنْ بِلَالٍ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏أَنّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏قَالَ لَهُ:‏‏‏‏ لَا تُؤَذِّنْ حَتَّى يَسْتَبِينَ لَكَ الْفَجْرُ هَكَذَا:‏‏‏‏ وَمَدَّ يَدَيْهِ عَرْضًا ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏قَالَ أَبُو دَاوُد:‏‏‏‏ شَدَّادٌ مَوْلَى عِيَاضٍ لَمْ يُدْرِكْ بِلَالًا.

بلال رضی اللہ عنہ سے روایت ہے کہ رسول اللہ صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم نے ان سے فرمایا: تم اذان نہ دیا کرو جب تک کہ فجر تمہارے لیے اس طرح واضح نہ ہو جائے ، اور آپ صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم نے اپنے دونوں ہاتھ چوڑائی میں پھیلائے۔ ابوداؤد کہتے ہیں: عیاض کے آزاد کردہ غلام شداد نے بلال رضی اللہ عنہ کو نہیں پایا ہے۔

Aishah reported: Ibn Umm Maktum was the muadhdhin of the Messenger of Allah صلی ‌اللہ ‌علیہ ‌وسلم and he was blind.

Abu al-Shatha said: we were sitting with Abu Hurairah in the mosque. A man went out of the mosque after the ADHAN for the afternoon prayer had been called. Abu Hurairah said: As regards this (man), he disobeyed Abu al-Qasim, the prophet صلی ‌اللہ ‌علیہ ‌وسلم.

Jabir bin Samurah said: Bilal would call the Adhan, then he used come to wait. When he would see that the prophet صلی ‌اللہ ‌علیہ ‌وسلم had come out (of his house), he would pronounce the iqama.

Narrated Abdullah ibn Umar: Mujahid reported: I was in the company of Ibn Umar. A person invited the people for the noon or afternoon prayer (after the adhan had been called). He said: Go out with us (from this mosque) because this is an innovation (in religion).

Abu Qatadah reported on the authority of his father: the prophet صلی ‌اللہ ‌علیہ ‌وسلم said; When the Iqamah for prayer is pronounced, do not stand until you see me. Abu Dawud said: this has been narrated by Ayyub and Hajjaj al-Sawwaf from Yahya and Hisham al-Duatawa’i in a similar way, saying: Yahya wrote to me (in this way). And this has been narrated by Muawiyah bin Sallam and Ali bin al-Mubarak from Yahya: “Until you see me and show tranquility”.
