Narrated Aishah, Ummul Muminin: The Prophet صلی ‌اللہ ‌علیہ ‌وسلم said: Allah does not accept the prayer of a woman who has reached puberty unless she wears a veil. Abu Dawud said: This tradition has been narrated by Sa;id bin Abi 'Arubah from Qatadah on the authority of al-Hasan from the Prophet صلی ‌اللہ ‌علیہ ‌وسلم.

حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ الْمُثَنَّى، ‏‏‏‏‏‏حَدَّثَنَا حَجَّاجُ بْنُ مِنْهَالٍ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏حَدَّثَنَا حَمَّادٌ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏عَنْ قَتَادَةَ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏عَنْ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ سِيرِينَ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏عَنْ صَفِيَّةَ بِنْتِ الْحَارِثِ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏عَنْ عَائِشَةَ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏عَنِ النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏أَنَّهُ قَالَ:‏‏‏‏ لَا يَقْبَلُ اللَّهُ صَلَاةَ حَائِضٍ إِلَّا بِخِمَارٍ ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏قَالَ أَبُو دَاوُد:‏‏‏‏ رَوَاهُ سَعِيدٌ يَعْنِي ابْنَ أَبِي عَرُوبَةَ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏عَنْ قَتَادَةَ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏عَنِ الْحَسَنِ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏عَنِ النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ.

ام المؤمنین عائشہ رضی اللہ عنہا سے روایت ہے کہ نبی اکرم صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم نے فرمایا: بالغہ عورت کی نماز بغیر اوڑھنی کے اللہ تعالیٰ قبول نہیں کرتا ۔ ابوداؤد کہتے ہیں: اسے سعید بن ابی عروبہ نے قتادہ سے، قتادہ نے حسن بصری سے، حسن بصری نے نبی اکرم صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم سے مرسلاً روایت کیا ہے۔

Muhammad said: Aishah came to Sufiyyah Umm Talhat al-Talhat and seeing her daughter she said: The Messenger of Allah صلی ‌اللہ ‌علیہ ‌وسلم entered (into the house) and there was a girl in my apartment. He gave his lower garment (wrapper) to me and said; tear it into two pieces and give one-half to this (girl) and the other half to the girl with Umm Salamah. I think she has reached puberty, or (he said) I think have reached puberty. Abu Dawud said: Hisham has narrated it similarly from Muhammad bin sirin.

Narrated Abu Hurairah: The Messenger of Allah صلی ‌اللہ ‌علیہ ‌وسلم forbade trailing garments during prayer and that a man should cover his mouth. Abu Dawud said: This tradition has also been narrated by 'Isi on the authority of Ata from Abu Hurairah: The Prophet صلی ‌اللہ ‌علیہ ‌وسلم forbade trailing garments during prayer.

Ibn Juraij said; I often saw Ata praying while letting his garment trail. Abu Dawud said: This (practice of Ata) weakens the tradition (narrated by Abu Hurairah).

Aishah said; The Messenger of Allah صلی ‌اللہ ‌علیہ ‌وسلم would not pray on our sheets of cloth or on our quits. Ubaid allah said: My father doubted.

Narrated Abu Rafi: Saeed ibn Abu Saeed al-Maqburi reported on the authority of his father that he saw Abu Rafi the freed slave of the Prophet صلی ‌اللہ ‌علیہ ‌وسلم, passing by Hasan ibn Ali (Allah be pleased with them) when he was standing offering his prayer. He had tied the back knot of his hair. Abu Rafi untied it. Hasan turned to him with anger, Abu Rafi said to him: Concentrate on your prayer and do not be angry: I heard the Messenger of Allah صلی ‌اللہ ‌علیہ ‌وسلم say: This is the seat of the devil, referring to the back knot of the hair.

Narrated Abdullah ibn Abbas: Kurayb the freed slave of Ibn Abbas reported: Abdullah ibn Abbas saw Abdullah ibn al-Harith praying having the back knot of the hair. He stood behind him and began to untie it. He remained standing unmoved (stationary). When he finished his prayer he came to Ibn Abbas and said to him: What were you doing with my head? He said: I heard the Messenger of Allah صلی ‌اللہ ‌علیہ ‌وسلم say: A man who prays with the black knot of hair tied is the one praying pinioned.
