Narrated Al-Bara ibn Azib: When the Messenger of Allah صلی ‌اللہ ‌علیہ ‌وسلم began prayer, he raised his hands up to his ears, then he did not repeat.
حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ الصَّبَّاحِ الْبَزَّازُ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏حَدَّثَنَا شَرِيكٌ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏عَنْ يَزِيدَ بْنِ أَبِي زِيَادٍ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏عَنْ عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ بْنِ أَبِي لَيْلَى، ‏‏‏‏‏‏عَنْ الْبَرَاءِ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏ أَنّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ كَانَ إِذَا افْتَتَحَ الصَّلَاةَ رَفَعَ يَدَيْهِ إِلَى قَرِيبٍ مِنْ أُذُنَيْهِ ثُمَّ لَا يَعُودُ .
اس طریق سے بھی یزید سے شریک ہی کی حدیث کی طرح حدیث مروی ہے   اس میں انہوں نے «ثم لا يعود» ( پھر ایسا نہیں کرتے تھے ) کا لفظ نہیں کہا ہے۔ سفیان کہتے ہیں: اس کے بعد ہم سے یزید نے کوفہ میں «ثم لا يعود» کہا ہے۔ ابوداؤد کہتے ہیں: اس حدیث کو ہشیم، خالد اور ابن ادریس نے یزید سے روایت کیا ہے، ان لوگوں نے «ثم لا يعود» کا ذکر نہیں کیا ہے۔
