Narrated Abdullah ibn Umar: The Messenger of Allah صلی ‌اللہ ‌علیہ ‌وسلم prohibited, according to the version of Ahmad ibn Hanbal, that a person should sit during prayer while he is leaning on his hand. According to the version of Ibn Shibwayh, he prohibited that a man should lean on his hand during prayer. According to the version of Ibn Rafi, he prohibited that a man should pray while he is leaning on his hand, and he mentioned this tradition in the chapter on Raising the head after prostration. According to the version of Ibn AbdulMalik, he prohibited that a man should lean on his hand when he stands up after prostration.

حَدَّثَنَا أَحْمَدُ بْنُ حَنْبَلٍ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏وَأَحْمَدُ بْنُ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ شَبُّوَيْهِ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏وَمُحَمَّدُ بْنُ رَافِعٍ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏وَمُحَمَّدُ بْنُ عَبْدِ الْمَلِكِ الْغَزَّالُ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏قَالُوا:‏‏‏‏ حَدَّثَنَاعَبْدُ الرَّزَّاقِ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏عَنْ مَعْمَرٍ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏عَنْ إِسْمَاعِيلَ بْنِ أُمَيَّةَ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏عَنْ نَافِعٍ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏عَنْ ابْنِ عُمَرَ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏قَالَ:‏‏‏‏ نَهَى رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏قَالَ أَحْمَدُ بْنُ حَنْبَلٍ:‏‏‏‏ أَنْ يَجْلِسَ الرَّجُلُ فِي الصَّلَاةِ وَهُوَ مُعْتَمِدٌ عَلَى يَدِهِ . وَقَالَ ابْنُ شَبُّوَيْهِ:‏‏‏‏ نَهَى أَنْ يَعْتَمِدَ الرَّجُلُ عَلَى يَدِهِ فِي الصَّلَاةِ . وَقَالَ ابْنُ رَافِعٍ:‏‏‏‏ نَهَى أَنْ يُصَلِّيَ الرَّجُلُ وَهُوَ مُعْتَمِدٌ عَلَى يَدِهِ . وَذَكَرَهُ فِي بَابِ الرَّفْعِ مِنَ السُّجُودِ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏وَقَالَ ابْنُ عَبْدِ الْمَلِكِ:‏‏‏‏ نَهَى أَنْ يَعْتَمِدَ الرَّجُلُ عَلَى يَدَيْهِ إِذَا نَهَضَ فِي الصَّلَاةِ .

عبداللہ بن عمر رضی اللہ عنہما کہتے ہیں کہ رسول اللہ صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم نے منع فرمایا ہے: آدمی کو نماز میں اپنے ہاتھ پر ٹیک لگا کر بیٹھنے سے ، اور ابن شبویہ کی روایت میں ہے: آدمی کو نماز میں اپنے ہاتھ پر ٹیک لگانے سے منع کیا ہے ، اور ابن رافع کی روایت میں ہے: آدمی کو اپنے ہاتھ پر ٹیک لگا کر نماز پڑھنے سے منع کیا ہے ، اور انہوں نے اسے «باب الرفع من السجود» میں ذکر کیا ہے، اور ابن عبدالملک کی روایت میں ہے کہ آدمی کو نماز میں اٹھتے وقت اپنے دونوں ہاتھ پر ٹیک لگانے سے منع کیا ہے ۱؎۔

Ismall bin Umayyah said: I asked about a man who intertwines his fingers while he is engaged in prayer. He said that Ibn Umar had said: This is the prayer of those who earn the anger of Allah.

Nafi said: Ibn Umar saw a man resting on his left hand while he was sitting during prayer. The version of Harun bin Zaid goes: He was lying on his left side. the agreed version goes: he said to him: Do not sit like this, because those who are punished sit like this.

Narrated Abdullah ibn Masud: The Prophet صلی ‌اللہ ‌علیہ ‌وسلم was in the first two rak'ahs as though he were on heated stones. The narrator Shubah said: We said: Till he (the Prophet) got up.

Narrated Abdullah ibn Masud: The Prophet صلی ‌اللہ ‌علیہ ‌وسلم used to give the salutation to his left and right sides until the whiteness of his cheek was seen, (saying: Peace be upon you, and mercy of Allah twice. Abu Dawud said: This is a version of the tradition reported by Abu Sufyan. The version of Isra'il did not explain it. Abu Dawud said: This tradition has been narrated by Zubayr from Abu Ishaq and Yahya ibn Adam from Isra'il from Abu Ishaq from Abdur Rahman ibn al-Aswad from his father from Alqamah on the authority of Abdullah ibn Masud. Abu Dawud said: Shubah used to reject this tradition, the tradition narrated by Abu Ishaq as coming from the Prophet صلی ‌اللہ ‌علیہ ‌وسلم.

Narrated Wail ibn Hujr: I offered prayer along with the Prophet صلی ‌اللہ ‌علیہ ‌وسلم. He would give the salutation to his right side (saying): Peace be upon you and mercy of Allah; and to his left side (saying): Peace be upon you and mercy of Allah.

Jabir bin Samurah said: When we prayed behind the Messenger of Allah صلی ‌اللہ ‌علیہ ‌وسلم, one of us gave the salutation and pointed with his hand to the man to his right side and left side. When he finished his prayer, he said: What is the matter that one of you points with his hand (during prayer) just like the tails of restive horses. It is sufficient for one of you, or is it not sufficient for one of you to say in this manner? And he pointed with his finger; one should salute his brother at his right and left side.
