‘Abdur-Rahman bin ‘Ali bin Shaiban narrated that his father, ‘Ali bin Shaiban, who was part of the delegation, said: “We set out until we came to the Prophet (ﷺ). We gave him our oath of allegiance and performed prayer behind him. Then we offered another prayer behind him. He finished the prayer and saw a man on his own, praying behind the row.” He said: “The Prophet of Allah (ﷺ) stood beside him and when he finished he said: ‘Repeat your prayer; there is no prayer for the one who is behind the row.’”

حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو بَكْرِ بْنُ أَبِي شَيْبَةَ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏حَدَّثَنَا مُلَازِمُ بْنُ عَمْرٍو، ‏‏‏‏‏‏عَنْ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ بَدْرٍ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏حَدَّثَنِي عَبْدُ الرَّحْمَنِ بْنُ عَلِيِّ بْنِ شَيْبَانَ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏عَنْ أَبِيهِ عَلِيِّ بْنِ شَيْبَانَ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏وَكَانَ مِنَ الْوَفْدِ قَالَ:‏‏‏‏ خَرَجْنَا حَتَّى قَدِمْنَا عَلَى النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ فَبَايَعْنَاهُ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏وَصَلَّيْنَا خَلْفَهُ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏ثُمَّ صَلَّيْنَا وَرَاءَهُ صَلَاةً أُخْرَى، ‏‏‏‏‏‏فَقَضَى الصَّلَاةَ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏فَرَأَى رَجُلًا فَرْدًا يُصَلِّي خَلْفَ الصَّفِّ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏قَالَ:‏‏‏‏ فَوَقَفَ عَلَيْهِ نَبِيُّ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ حِينَ انْصَرَفَ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏قَالَ:‏‏‏‏ اسْتَقْبِلْ صَلَاتَكَ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏لَا صَلَاةَ لِلَّذِي خَلْفَ الصَّفِّ .

علی بن شیبان رضی اللہ عنہ اور (وہ وفد میں سے تھے) کہتے ہیں کہ ہم سفر کر کے نبی اکرم صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم کے پاس آئے، ہم نے آپ صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم سے بیعت کی اور آپ کے پیچھے نماز پڑھی، پھر ہم نے آپ کے پیچھے دوسری نماز پڑھی، آپ صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم نے نماز پوری کرنے کے بعد ایک شخص کو دیکھا کہ وہ صف کے پیچھے اکیلا نماز پڑھ رہا ہے، آپ اس کے پاس ٹھہرے رہے، جب وہ نماز سے فارغ ہوا تو آپ صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم نے فرمایا: دوبارہ نماز پڑھو، جو صف کے پیچھے اکیلے نماز پڑھے اس کی نماز نہیں ہوتی ۱؎۔

It was narrated that Hilal bin Yasaf said: “Ziyad bin Abu-Ja’d took me by the hand and made me stand near an old man at Raqqah, whose name was Wabisah bin Ma’bad. He said: ‘A man performed prayer behind the row on his own, and the Prophet (ﷺ) commanded him to repeat the prayer.’”

It was narrated that ‘Aishah said: “The Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) said: ‘Allah and His angels send blessings upon the right side of the rows.’”

It was narrated that Bara’ said: “When we performed prayer behind the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) (One of the narrators) Mis’ar said: ‘One of the things we liked, or one of the things I liked’ ‘was to stand to his right.’”

It was narrated that Ibn ‘Umar said: “It was said to the Prophet (ﷺ): ‘The left side of the mosque has been abandoned. The Prophet (ﷺ) said: “Whoever frequents the left side of the mosque, two Kifl* of reward will be recorded for him.”

It was narrated that Jabir said: “When the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) finished Tawaf around the House (the Ka’bah), he came to Maqam of Ibrahim (the Station of Ibrahim). ‘Umar said: ‘O Messenger of Allah, this is the Station of our father Ibrahim about which Allah said: “And take you (people) the Maqam of Ibrahim as a place of prayer.’” [2:125]

It was narrated that Anas bin Malik told that ‘Umar said: “I said: ‘O Messenger of Allah (ﷺ), why do you not take the Maqam of Ibrahim as a place of prayer?’ Then the following was revealed: ‘And take you (people) the Maqam of Ibrahim as a place of prayer.’” [2:125]
