Abu Hurairah said: We were sitting with the Prophet and he said: 'While I was sleeping I saw myself in Paradise (in a dream), and I saw a woman performing ablution beside a palace. I asked: Whose palace is this? She said: 'Umar's. I remembered his protective jealousy, so I turned away and left.' Abu Hurairah said: ''Umar wept and said: 'May my father and mother be sacrificed for you, O Messenger of Allah! Would I feel any protective jealousy against you?'
حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ الْحَارِثِ الْمِصْرِيُّ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏أَنْبَأَنَا اللَّيْثُ بْنُ سَعْدٍ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏حَدَّثَنِي عُقَيْلٌ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏عَنْ ابْنِ شِهَابٍ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏أَخْبَرَنِي سَعِيدُ بْنُ الْمُسَيَّبِ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏أَنَّ أَبَا هُرَيْرَةَ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏قَالَ:‏‏‏‏ كُنَّا جُلُوسًا عِنْدَ النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ قَالَ:‏‏‏‏ بَيْنَا أَنَا نَائِمٌ رَأَيْتُنِي فِي الْجَنَّةِ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏فَإِذَا أَنَا بِامْرَأَةٍ تَتَوَضَّأُ إِلَى جَانِبِ قَصْرٍ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏فَقُلْتُ:‏‏‏‏ لِمَنْ هَذَا الْقَصْرُ؟، ‏‏‏‏‏‏فَقَالَتْ:‏‏‏‏ لِعُمَرَ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏فَذَكَرْتَ غَيْرَتَهُ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏فَوَلَّيْتُ مُدْبِرًا ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏قَالَ أَبُو هُرَيْرَةَ:‏‏‏‏ فَبَكَى عُمَرُ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏فَقَالَ:‏‏‏‏ أَعَلَيْكَ بِأَبِي، ‏‏‏‏‏‏وَأُمِّي يَا رَسُولَ اللَّهِ أَغَارُ .
ابوہریرہ رضی اللہ عنہ کہتے ہیں کہ   کہ ہم نبی اکرم صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم کے پاس بیٹھے تھے، آپ نے فرمایا: اس اثنا میں کہ میں سویا ہوا تھا، میں نے اپنے آپ کو جنت میں دیکھا، پھر اچانک میں نے ایک عورت کو دیکھا کہ ایک محل کے کنارے وضو کر رہی ہے، میں نے پوچھا: یہ محل کس کا ہے؟ اس عورت نے کہا: عمر کا ( مجھے عمر کی غیرت یاد آ گئی تو میں پیٹھ پھیر کر واپس ہو گیا ) ۔ ابوہریرہ رضی اللہ عنہ کہتے ہیں: یہ سن کر عمر رضی اللہ عنہ رونے لگے، اور عرض کیا: اللہ کے رسول! میرے ماں باپ آپ پر قربان ہوں، کیا میں آپ سے غیرت کروں گا؟ ۱؎۔

He said: 'This man.'

It was narrated that 'Aishah said: The Messenger of Allah said: O 'Uthman, if Allah places you in authority over this matter (as the caliph) some day and the hypocrites want to rid you of the garment with which Allah has clothed you (i.e., the position of caliph), do not take it off. He said that three times. (One of the narrators) Nu'man said: I said to 'Aishah: 'What kept you from telling the people that?' She said: 'I was made to forget it.'

It was narrated that 'Aishah said: When he was ill, the Messenger of Allah said: 'I would like to have some of my Companions with me.' We said: 'O Messenger of Allah! Shall we call Abu Bakr for you?' But he remained silent. We said: 'Shall we call 'Umar for you?' But he remained silent. We said: 'Shall we call 'Uthman for you?' He said: 'Yes.' So 'Uthman came and he spoke to him in private. The Prophet started to speak to him and 'Uthman's expression changed. Qais said: Abu Sahlah, the freed slave of 'Uthman, narrated to me that on the Day of the House, 'Uthman bin 'Affan said: 'The Messenger of Allah told me what would come to pass and now I am coming to that day.' In his narration of the Hadith, 'Ali (one of the narrators) said (that he said): And I am going to bear it with patience. Qais said: They used to think that that was the Day of the House.
