It was narrated from ‘Amir that Qais bin Sa’d said: “There is nothing that happened during the time of the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) except that I have seen it, except for one thing, which is that Taqlis was performed for the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) on the Day of Fitr. When he reached the praying place, it would be set up in front of him, then he would pray facing it, and that was because the praying place was an open space in which there was nothing that could serve as a Sutrah.
