It was narrated that Sa'eed bin Zaid: 'I bear witness that I heard the Messenger of Allah say: 'Stand firm, O (mountain of) Hira', for there is no one upon you but a Prophet, a Siddiq or a martyr.' Then he listed them as follows: The Messenger of Allah, Abu Bakr, 'Umar, 'Uthman, 'Ali, Talhah, Zubair, Sa'd, Ibn 'Awf and Sa'eed bin Zaid.

حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ بَشَّارٍ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏حَدَّثَنَا ابْنُ أَبِي عَدِيٍّ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏عَنْ شُعْبَةَ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏عَنْ حُصَيْنٍ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏عَنْ هِلَالِ بْنِ يَسَافٍ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏عَنْ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ ظَالِمٍ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏عَنْ سَعِيدِ بْنِ زَيْدٍ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏قَالَ:‏‏‏‏ أَشْهَدُ عَلَى رَسُولِ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ أَنِّي سَمِعْتُهُ يَقُولُ:‏‏‏‏ اثْبُتْ حِرَاءُ فَمَا عَلَيْكَ إِلَّا نَبِيٌّ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏أَوْ صِدِّيقٌ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏أَوْ شَهِيدٌ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏وَعَدَّهُمْ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ:‏‏‏‏ أَبُو بَكْرٍ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏وَعُمَرُ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏وَعُثْمَانُ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏وَعَلِيٌّ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏وَطَلْحَةُ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏وَالزُّبَيْرُ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏وَسَعْدٌ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏وَابْنُ عَوْفٍ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏وَسَعِيدُ بْنُ زَيْدٍ .

سعید بن زید رضی اللہ عنہ کہتے ہیں کہ میں گواہی دیتا ہوں کہ میں نے رسول اللہ صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم کو فرماتے سنا: ٹھہر، اے حرا! ۱؎ ( وہ لرزنے لگا تھا ) تیرے اوپر سوائے نبی، صدیق اور شہید کے کوئی اور نہیں ہے ، اور رسول اللہ صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم نے ان کے نام گنوائے: ابوبکر، عمر، عثمان، علی، طلحہ، زبیر، سعد، عبدالرحمٰن بن عوف اور سعید بن زید رضی اللہ عنہم۔

It was narrated from Hudhaifah that: The Messenger of Allah said to the people of Najran: I will send you a trustworthy man with you, who is indeed trustworthy. The people craned their necks to see, and he sent Abu 'Ubaidah bin Jarrah.

It was narrated from 'Abdullah that: The Messenger of Allah said to Abu 'Ubaidah bin Jarrah: This is the trustworthy man of this Ummah.

It was narrated that 'Ali said: The Messenger of Allah said: 'If I were to appoint anyone as my successor without consulting anyone, I would have appointed Ibn Umm 'Abd.'

It was narrated from 'Abdullah bin Mas'ud that: Abu Bakr and 'Umar gave him the glad tidings that the Messenger of Allah had said: Whoever would like to recite the Qur'an as fresh as when it was revealed, let him recite it like Ibn Umm 'Abd.'

It was narrated that 'Abdullah said: The Messenger of Allah said to me: 'The sign that you have been permitted to come in is that you raise the curtain and that you hear me speaking quietly, until I forbid you.' (i.e. unless I forbid you).

It was narrated that 'Abbas bin 'Abdul-Muttalib said: We used to come across groups of Quraish who would be talking, but they would stop talking (when we approached). We mentioned that to the Messenger of Allah and he said: 'What is the matter with people who talk, then when they see a man from my family they stop talking? By Allah, faith will not enter a person's heart until he loves them for the sake of Allah and because of their closeness to me.'
