It was narrated that Maimunah the freed (female) slave of the Prophet (ﷺ) said: I said: “O Messenger of Allah, tell us about Baitil- Maqdis.” He said: “It is the land of the Resurrection and the Gathering. Go and pray there, for one prayer there is like one thousand prayers elsewhere.” I said: “What if I cannot travel and go there?” He said: “Then send a gift of oil to light its lamps, for whoever does that is like one who goes there.”
حَدَّثَنَا إِسْمَاعِيل بْنُ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ الرَّقِّيُّ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏حَدَّثَنَا عِيسَى بْنُ يُونُسَ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏حَدَّثَنَا ثَوْرُ بْنُ يَزِيدَ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏عَنْ زِيَادِ بْنِ أَبِي سَوْدَةَ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏عَنْ أَخِيهِ عُثْمَانَ بْنِ أَبِي سَوْدَةَ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏عَنْ مَيْمُونَةَ مَوْلَاةِ النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏قَالَتْ:‏‏‏‏ قُلْتُ:‏‏‏‏ يَا رَسُولَ اللَّهِ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏أَفْتِنَا فِي بَيْتِ الْمَقْدِسِ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏قَالَ:‏‏‏‏ أَرْضُ الْمَحْشَرِ وَالْمَنْشَرِ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏ائْتُوهُ فَصَلُّوا فِيهِ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏فَإِنَّ صَلَاةً فِيهِ كَأَلْفِ صَلَاةٍ فِي غَيْرِهِ ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏قُلْتُ:‏‏‏‏ أَرَأَيْتَ إِنْ لَمْ أَسْتَطِعْ أَنْ أَتَحَمَّلَ إِلَيْهِ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏قَالَ:‏‏‏‏ فَتُهْدِي لَهُ زَيْتًا يُسْرَجُ فِيهِ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏فَمَنْ فَعَلَ ذَلِكَ فَهُوَ كَمَنْ أَتَاهُ .
نبی اکرم صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم کی لونڈی میمونہ رضی اللہ عنہا کہتی ہیں کہ   میں نے عرض کیا: اللہ کے رسول! ہم کو بیت المقدس کا مسئلہ بتائیے ، آپ صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم نے فرمایا: وہ تو حشر و نشر کی زمین ہے، وہاں جاؤ اور نماز پڑھو، اس لیے کہ اس میں ایک نماز دوسری مسجدوں کی ہزار نماز کی طرح ہے میں نے عرض کیا: اگر وہاں تک جانے کی طاقت نہ ہو؟ آپ صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم نے فرمایا: تو تم تیل بھیج دو جسے وہاں کے چراغوں میں جلایا جائے، جس نے ایسا کیا گویا وہ وہاں گیا ۔

It was narrated from ‘Abdullah bin ‘Amr that the Prophet (ﷺ) said: “When Sulaiman bin Dawud finished building Baitil-Maqdis, he asked Allah for three things: judgment that was in harmony with His judgment, a dominion that no one after him would have, and that no one should come to this mosque, intending only to pray there, but he would emerge free of sin as the day his mother bore him.” The Prophet (ﷺ) said: “Two prayers were granted, and I hope that the third was also granted.”

It was narrated that Anas bin Malik said: “The Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) said: ‘A man’s prayer in his house is equal (in reward) to one prayer; his prayer in the mosque of the tribes is equal to twenty-five prayers; his prayer in the mosque in which Friday prayer is offered is equal to five-hundred prayers; his prayer in Aqsa Mosque is equal to fifty thousand prayers; his prayer in my mosque is equal to fifty thousand prayers; and his prayer in the Sacred Mosque is equal to one hundred thousand prayers.”
