It was narrated that Anas bin Malik said: “A funeral (procession) passed by the Prophet (ﷺ) and they praised (the deceased) and spoke well of him. He said: ‘(Paradise is) guaranteed for him.’ Then another funeral passed by and they spoke badly of him, and he (the Prophet (ﷺ)) said: ‘(Hell is) guaranteed for him.’ It was said: ‘O Messenger of Allah, you said that (Paradise was) guaranteed for this one and that (Hell was) guaranteed for the other one.’ He said: ‘It is the testimony of the people, and the believers are the witnesses of Allah on earth.’”
حَدَّثَنَا أَحْمَدُ بْنُ عَبْدَةَ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏حَدَّثَنَا حَمَّادُ بْنُ زَيْدٍ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏عَنْ ثَابِتٍ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏عَنْ أَنَسِ بْنِ مَالِكٍ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏قَالَ:‏‏‏‏ مُرَّ عَلَى النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ بِجِنَازَةٍ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏فَأُثْنِيَ عَلَيْهَا خَيْرًا، ‏‏‏‏‏‏فَقَالَ:‏‏‏‏ وَجَبَتْ ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏ثُمَّ مُرَّ عَلَيْهِ بِجِنَازَةٍ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏فَأُثْنِيَ عَلَيْهَا شَرًّا، ‏‏‏‏‏‏فَقَالَ:‏‏‏‏ وَجَبَتْ ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏فَقِيلَ:‏‏‏‏ يَا رَسُولَ اللَّهِ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏قُلْتَ لِهَذِهِ:‏‏‏‏ وَجَبَتْ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏وَلِهَذِهِ:‏‏‏‏ وَجَبَتْ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏فَقَالَ:‏‏‏‏ شَهَادَةُ الْقَوْمِ وَالْمُؤْمِنُونَ شُهُودُ اللَّهِ فِي الْأَرْضِ .
انس بن مالک رضی اللہ عنہ کہتے ہیں کہ   نبی اکرم صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم کے سامنے سے ایک جنازہ لے جایا گیا، لوگوں نے اس کی تعریف کی، تو آپ صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم نے فرمایا: اس پر ( جنت ) واجب ہو گئی پھر آپ کے سامنے سے ایک اور جنازہ لے جایا گیا، تو لوگوں نے اس کی برائی کی، تو آپ صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم نے فرمایا: اس پر ( جہنم ) واجب ہو گئی ، لوگوں نے عرض کیا: اللہ کے رسول! آپ نے اس کے لیے بھی فرمایا: واجب ہو گئی ، اور اس کے لیے بھی فرمایا: واجب ہو گئی تو آپ صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم نے فرمایا: لوگوں کی گواہی واجب ہو گئی، اور مومن زمین میں اللہ تعالیٰ کے گواہ ہیں ۱؎۔

It was narrated that Abu Hurairah said: “A funeral passed by the Prophet (ﷺ) and they praised (the deceased) and spoke well of him and mentioned his good characteristics. He said: ‘(Paradise is) guaranteed for him.’ Then another funeral passed by and they spoke badly of him and mentioned his bad characteristics, and he (the Prophet (ﷺ)) said: ‘(Hell is) guaranteed for him. You are the witnesses of Allah on earth.’”

It was narrated from Samurah bin Jundab Al-Fazari that the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) offered the funeral prayer for a woman who had died in Nifas,* and he stood level with her middle (i.e. her waist).”

It was narrated that Abu Ghalib said: “I saw Anas bin Malik offering the funeral prayer for a man, and he stood level with his head. Then another funeral was brought, that of a woman, and they said: ‘O Abu Hamzah! Offer the funeral prayer for her.’ So he stood level with the middle of the bed (the body was upon). ‘Ala’ bin Ziyad said to him: ‘O Abu Hamzah! Is this how you saw the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) standing in relation to the body of a man and a woman as you have stood?’ He said: ‘Yes.’ Then he turned to us and said: ‘Remember this.’”
