It was narrated that Jarir bin 'Abdullah Al-Bajali said: The Messenger of Allah never refused to see me from the time I became Muslim, and whenever he saw me he would smile at me. I complained to him that I could not sit firmly on a horse, so he struck me on the chest with his hand and said: 'O Allah, make him firm and cause him to guide others and be rightly-guided.'

حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ نُمَيْرٍ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ اللَّهِ بْنُ إِدْرِيسَ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏عَنْ إِسْمَاعِيل بْنِ أَبِي خَالِدٍ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏عَنْ قَيْسِ بْنِ أَبِي حَازِمٍ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏عَنْ جَرِيرِ بْنِ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ الْبَجَلِيِّ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏قَالَ:‏‏‏‏ مَا حَجَبَنِي رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ مُنْذُ أَسْلَمْتُ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏وَلَا رَآنِي إِلَّا تَبَسَّمَ فِي وَجْهِي، ‏‏‏‏‏‏وَلَقَدْ شَكَوْتُ إِلَيْهِ أَنِّي لَا أَثْبُتُ عَلَى الْخَيْلِ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏فَضَرَبَ بِيَدِهِ فِي صَدْرِي، ‏‏‏‏‏‏فَقَالَ:‏‏‏‏ اللَّهُمَّ ثَبِّتْهُ وَاجْعَلْهُ هَادِيًا مَهْدِيًّا .

جریر بن عبداللہ بجلی رضی اللہ عنہ کہتے ہیں کہ رسول اللہ صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم نے مجھے اپنے پاس آنے سے نہیں روکا، اور جب بھی مجھے دیکھا میرے روبرو مسکرائے اور میں نے آپ صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم سے شکایت کی کہ میں گھوڑے پر ٹک نہیں پاتا ( گر جاتا ہوں ) تو آپ صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم نے اپنا ہاتھ میرے سینے پہ مارا اور دعا فرمائی: اے اللہ! اس کو ثابت رکھ اور اسے ہدایت کنندہ اور ہدایت یافتہ بنا دے ۱؎۔

Rafi' bin Khadij said: Jibril or an angel came to the Prophet and said: 'How do you regard those among you who were present at Badr?' He said: 'They are the best among us.' He said: 'We think the same (of the angels who were present at Badr), they are the best of the angels.'

It was narrated that Abu Hurairah said: The Messenger of Allah said: 'Do not revile my Companions, for by The One in Whose Hand is my soul! If any one of you were to spend the equivalent of Mount Uhud in gold, it would not equal a Mudd spent by anyone of them, nor even half a Mudd.

It was narrated that Nusair bin Dhu'luq said: Ibn 'Umar used to say: 'Do not revile the Companions of Muhammed, for the stay of anyone of them for a brief period (with the Prophet) is better than all the good deeds that anyone of you does in his lifetime.'

It was narrated that Bara' bin 'Azib said: The Messenger of Allah said: 'Whoever loves the Ansar, Allah will love him, and whoever hates the Ansar, Allah will hate him.' (One of the narrators) Shu'bah said: I said to 'Adi: 'Did you hear that from Bara' bin 'Azib?' He said: 'It was to me that he narrated it.'

It was narrated from 'Abdul-Muhaimin bin 'Abbas bin Sahl bin Sa'd from his father, from his grandfather, that: The Messenger of Allah said: The Ansar are an inner garment and the people are an outer garment. If the people were to head towards one valley or a narrow mountain pass and the Ansar towards another, I would travel to the valley of the Ansar, and were it not for the Hijrah, I would have been a man from among the Ansar.

Kathir bin 'Abdullah bin 'Amr bin 'Awf narrated from his father: That his grandfather said: The Messenger of Allah said: 'May Allah have mercy on the Ansar, and the children of the Ansar, and the grandchildren of the Ansar.'
