Translation

It was narrated that Anas said: “After the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) had died, Abu Bakr said to ‘Umar: ‘Let us go and visit Umm Ayman as the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) used to visit her.’ He said: ‘When we reached her she wept.’ They said: ‘Why are you weeping? What is with Allah is better for His Messenger.’ She said: ‘I know that what is with Allah is better for His Messenger, but I am weeping because the Revelation from heaven has ceased.’ She moved them to tears and they started to weep with her.”

حَدَّثَنَا الْحَسَنُ بْنُ عَلِيٍّ الْخَلَّالُ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏حَدَّثَنَا عَمْرُو بْنُ عَاصِمٍ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏حَدَّثَنَا سُلَيْمَانُ بْنُ الْمُغِيرَةِ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏عَنْ ثَابِتٍ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏عَنْ أَنَسٍ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏قَالَ:‏‏‏‏ قَالَ أَبُو بَكْرٍ بَعْدَ وَفَاةِ رَسُولِ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ لِعُمَرَ:‏‏‏‏ انْطَلِقْ بِنَا إِلَى أُمِّ أَيْمَنَ نَزُورُهَا كَمَا كَانَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ يَزُورُهَا ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏قَالَ:‏‏‏‏ فَلَمَّا انْتَهَيْنَا إِلَيْهَا بَكَتْ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏فَقَالَا لَهَا:‏‏‏‏ مَا يُبْكِيكِ فَمَا عِنْدَ اللَّهِ خَيْرٌ لِرَسُولِهِ؟ ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏قَالَتْ:‏‏‏‏ إِنِّي لَأَعْلَمُ أَنَّ مَا عِنْدَ اللَّهِ خَيْرٌ لِرَسُولِهِ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏وَلَكِنْ أَبْكِي أَنَّ الْوَحْيَ قَدِ انْقَطَعَ مِنَ السَّمَاءِ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏قَالَ:‏‏‏‏ فَهَيَّجَتْهُمَا عَلَى الْبُكَاءِ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏فَجَعَلَا يَبْكِيَانِ مَعَهَا.

انس بن مالک رضی اللہ عنہ کہتے ہیں کہ ابوبکر رضی اللہ عنہ نے رسول اللہ صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم کی وفات کے بعد عمر رضی اللہ عنہ سے کہا: چلئے، ہم ام ایمن ( برکہ ) رضی اللہ عنہا سے ملنے چلیں، جیسا کہ رسول اللہ صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم ان سے ملنے جایا کرتے تھے، انس رضی اللہ عنہ کہتے ہیں کہ جب ہم ام ایمن رضی اللہ عنہا کے پاس پہنچے، تو وہ رونے لگیں، ان دونوں نے ان سے پوچھا کہ آپ کیوں رو رہی ہیں؟ جو کچھ اللہ کے پاس ہے وہ اس کے رسول کے لیے بہتر ہے، انہوں نے کہا: میں جانتی ہوں کہ جو کچھ اللہ کے پاس ہے اس کے رسول کے لیے بہتر ہے، لیکن میں اس لیے رو رہی ہوں کہ آسمان سے وحی کا سلسلہ بند ہو گیا، انس رضی اللہ عنہ نے کہا: تو ام ایمن رضی اللہ عنہا نے ان دونوں کو بھی رلا دیا، وہ دونوں بھی ان کے ساتھ رونے لگے ۱؎۔

It was narrated from Aws bin Aws that the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) said: ‘The best of your days is Friday. On it Adam was created; on it shall be the Nafakhah,* on it all creation will swoon. So send a great deal of blessing upon me on this day, for your blessing will be presented to me.’ A man said: “O Messenger of Allah! How will our blessing be presented to you when you have disintegrated?” He said: “Allah has forbidden the earth to consume the bodies of the Prophets.”

It was narrated from Abu Darda’ that the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) said: “Send a great deal of blessing upon me on Fridays, for it is witnessed by the angels. No one sends blessing upon me but his blessing will be presented to me, until he finishes them.” A man said: “Even after death?” He said: “Even after death, for Allah has forbidden the earth to consume the bodies of the Prophets, so the Prophet of Allah is alive and receives provision.’”

It was narrated from Abu Hurairah that the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) said: “Every good deed of the son of Adam will be multiplied manifold. A good deed will be multiplied ten times up to as many as seven hundred times, or as much as Allah wills. Allah says: ‘Except for fasting, which is for Me and I shall reward for it. He gives up his desire and his food for My sake.’ The fasting person has two joys, one when he breaks his fast and another when he meets his Lord. The smell that comes from the mouth of a fasting person is better before Allah than the fragrance of musk.”

Mutarrif, from the tribe of Banu ‘Amir bin Sa’sa’ah narrated that ‘Uthman bin Abul-‘As Ath-Thaqafi invited him to drink some milk that he poured for him. Mutarrif said: “I am fasting.” ‘Uthman said: “I heard the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) say: ‘Fasting is a shield against the Fire just like the shield of anyone of you against fighting.’”

It was narrated from Sahl bin Sa’d that the Prophet (ﷺ) said: “In Paradise there is a gate called Rayyan. On the Day of Resurrection the call will go out saying: ‘Where are those who used to fast?’ Whoever is among those who used to fast will enter it, and whoever enters it will never thirst again.”

It was narrated from Abu Hurairah that the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) said: ‘Whoever fasts Ramadan out of faith and the hope of reward will be forgiven his previous sins.”
