It was narrated that ‘Atiyyah bin Sufyan bin ‘Abdullah bin Rabi’ah said: “Our delegation who went to the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) to announce the Islam of Thaqif told us that they came to him in Ramadan. He set up a tent for them in the mosque, and when they became Muslim, they fasted what was left of the month.”

حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ يَحْيَى، ‏‏‏‏‏‏حَدَّثَنَا أَحْمَدُ بْنُ خَالِدٍ الْوَهْبِيُّ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ إِسْحَاق، ‏‏‏‏‏‏عَنْ عِيسَى بْنِ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ مَالِكٍ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏عَنْ عَطِيَّةَ بْنِ سُفْيَانَ بْنِ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ رَبِيعَةَ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏قَالَ:‏‏‏‏ حَدَّثَنَا وَفْدُنَا الَّذِينَ قَدِمُوا عَلَى رَسُولِ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ بِإِسْلَامِ ثَقِيفٍ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏قَالَ:‏‏‏‏ وَقَدِمُوا عَلَيْهِ فِي رَمَضَانَ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏فَضَرَبَ عَلَيْهِمْ قُبَّةً فِي الْمَسْجِدِ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏فَلَمَّا أَسْلَمُوا صَامُوا مَا بَقِيَ عَلَيْهِمْ مِنَ الشَّهْرِ .

عطیہ بن سفیان کہتے ہیں کہ ہمارے اس وفد نے جو رسول اللہ صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم کی خدمت میں گیا تھا، ہم سے بنو ثقیف کے قبول اسلام کا واقعہ بیان کیا کہ بنو ثقیف نبی اکرم صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم کی خدمت میں رمضان میں آئے، تو آپ صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم نے ان کے لیے مسجد میں ایک خیمہ لگایا، جب ان لوگوں نے اسلام قبول کر لیا، تو رمضان کے جو دن باقی رہ گئے تھے، ان میں انہوں نے روزے رکھے ۱؎۔

It was narrated from Abu Hurairah that the Prophet (ﷺ) said: “When her husband is present, no woman should fast any day apart from the month of Ramadan without his permission.”

It was narrated that Abu Sa’eed Al-Khudri said: “We observed I’tikaf with the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) during the middle ten days of Ramadan. He said: ‘I have been shown Lailatul-Qadr, then I was caused to forget it, so seek it in the last ten night, on the odd-numbered nights.’”
