It was narrated that Jarir bin 'Abdullah said: We were sitting with the Messenger of Allah. He looked at the moon, which was full, and said, 'Indeed, you will see your Lord as you see this moon. You will not feel the slightest inconvenience and overcrowding in seeing Him. If you have the power not to be overcome and to say this prayer before the sun rises and before it sets, then do that.' Then he recited: And glorify the praises of your Lord, before the rising of the sun and before (its) setting.

حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ نُمَيْرٍ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏حَدَّثَنَا أَبِي، ‏‏‏‏‏‏ وَوَكِيعٌ . ح وحَدَّثَنَا عَلِيُّ بْنُ مُحَمَّدٍ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏حَدَّثَنَا خَالِي يَعْلَى، ‏‏‏‏‏‏ وَوَكِيعٌ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏وَأَبُو مُعَاوِيَةَ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏قَالُوا:‏‏‏‏ حَدَّثَنَا إِسْمَاعِيل بْنُ أَبِي خَالِدٍ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏عَنْ قَيْسِ بْنِ أَبِي حَازِمٍ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏عَنْ جَرِيرِ بْنِ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏قَالَ:‏‏‏‏ كُنَّا جُلُوسًا عِنْدَ رَسُولِ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ فَنَظَرَ إِلَى الْقَمَرِ لَيْلَةَ الْبَدْرِ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏فَقَالَ:‏‏‏‏ إِنَّكُمْ سَتَرَوْنَ رَبَّكُمْ كَمَا تَرَوْنَ هَذَا الْقَمَرَ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏لَا تَضَامُّونَ فِي رُؤْيَتِهِ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏فَإِنِ اسْتَطَعْتُمْ أَنْ لَا تُغْلَبُوا عَلَى صَلَاةٍ قَبْلَ طُلُوعِ الشَّمْسِ وَقَبْلَ غُرُوبِهَا فَافْعَلُوا ثُمَّ قَرَأَ وَسَبِّحْ بِحَمْدِ رَبِّكَ قَبْلَ طُلُوعِ الشَّمْسِ وَقَبْلَ الْغُرُوبِ سورة ق آية 39.

جریر بن عبداللہ رضی اللہ عنہما کہتے ہیں کہ ہم رسول اللہ صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم کے پاس بیٹھے ہوئے تھے، آپ نے چودہویں کے چاند کی طرف دیکھا، اور فرمایا: عنقریب تم لوگ اپنے رب کو دیکھو گے جس طرح اس چاند کو دیکھ رہے ہو کہ اس کے دیکھنے میں تمہیں کوئی پریشانی لاحق نہیں ہو رہی ہے، لہٰذا اگر تم طاقت رکھتے ہو کہ سورج کے نکلنے اور ڈوبنے سے پہلے نماز سے پیچھے نہ رہو تو ایسا کرو ۔ پھر نبی اکرم صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم نے یہ آیت کریمہ تلاوت فرمائی: «وسبح بحمد ربك قبل طلوع الشمس وقبل الغروب» اپنے رب کی تسبیح و تحمید بیان کیجئے سورج کے نکلنے اور ڈوبنے سے پہلے ( سورة ق: 39 ) ۱؎۔

It was narrated that Abu Hurairah said: The Messenger of Allah said: 'Do you crowd one another in order to see the moon on the night when it is full?' They said: 'No.' He said: 'And you will not crowd one another in order to see your Lord on the Day of Resurrection.'

It was narrated that Abu Sa'eed said: We said: 'O Messenger of Allah! Will we see our Lord?' He said: 'Do you crowd one another to see the sun at mid-day when there are no clouds?' We said: 'No.' He said: 'Do you crowd one another to see the moon on the night when it is full and there are no clouds?' We said: 'No.' He said: 'You will not crowd one another to see Him, just as you do not crowd to see these two things.'

Waki' bin Hudus narrated that his paternal uncle Abu Razin said: I said: 'O Messenger of Allah, will we see Allah on the Day of Resurrection? And what is the sign of that in His creation?' He said: 'O Abu Razin, do each of you not see the moon individually?' I said: 'Of course.' He said: 'Allah is Greater, and that is His sign in His creation.'

Waki' bin Hudus narrated that his paternal uncle Abu Razin said: The Messenger of Allah said: 'Allah laughs at the despair of His slaves although He soon changes it.' I said: 'O Messenger of Allah, does the Lord laugh?' He said: 'Yes.' I said: 'We shall never be deprived of good by a Lord Who laughs.'

Waki' bin Hudus narrated that his paternal uncle Abu Razin said: I said: 'O Messenger of Allah, where was our Lord before He created His creation?' He said: He was above the clouds, below which was air, and above which was air and water. Then He created His Throne above the water.'

It was narrated that Safwan bin Muhriz Al-Mazini said: We were with 'Abdullah bin 'Umar when he was circumambulating the House; a man came up to him and said: 'O Ibn 'Umar, what did you hear the Messenger of Allah say about the Najwa?' He said: 'I heard the Messenger of Allah say: 'On the Day of Resurrection, the believer will be brought close to his Lord until He will cover him with His screen, then He will make him confess his sins. He will ask him: Do you confess? He will say: O Lord, I confess. This will continue as long as Allah wills, then He will say: I concealed them for you in the world, and I forgive you for them today. Then he will be given the scroll of his good deeds, or his record, in his right hand. But as for the disbeliever or the hypocrite, (his sins) will be announced before the witnesses.' (One of the narrators) Khalid said: At: 'before the witnesses' there is something missing. These are the ones who lied against their Lord!' No doubt! The curse of Allah is on the wrongdoers.
