It was narrated from Safiyyah bint Huyai, the wife of the Prophet (ﷺ), that she came to visit the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) when he was in I’tikaf during the last ten days of the month of Ramadan. She spoke with him for a while during the evening, then she stood up to go back. The Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) got up to take her home. When she reached the door of the mosque that was by the home of Umm Salamah, the wife of the Prophet (ﷺ), two men from among the Ansar passed by them. They greeted the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) with peace, then went away. The Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) said: “Take it easy, she is Safiyyah bint Huyai.” They said: “Glorious is Allah, O Messenger of Allah!” And they were very upset by that (i.e., that he thought they may have some doubts). The Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) said: “The Satan flows through the son of Adam like blood, and I was afraid that he might cast some doubt into your hearts.”

حَدَّثَنَا إِبْرَاهِيمُ بْنُ الْمُنْذِرِ الْحِزَامِيُّ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏حَدَّثَنَا عُمَرُ بْنُ عُثْمَانَ بْنِ عُمَرَ بْنِ مُوسَى بْنِ عُبَيْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ مَعْمَرٍ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏عَنْ أَبِيهِ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏عَنْ ابْنِ شِهَابٍ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏أَخْبَرَنِي عَلِيُّ بْنُ الْحُسَيْنِ:‏‏‏‏ عَنْ صَفِيَّةَ بِنْتِ حُيَيٍّ زَوْجِ النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏أَنَّهَا جَاءَتْ إِلَى رَسُولِ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ تَزُورُهُ وَهُوَ مُعْتَكِفٌ فِي الْمَسْجِدِ فِي الْعَشْرِ الْأَوَاخِرِ مِنْ شَهْرِ رَمَضَانَ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏فَتَحَدَّثَتْ عِنْدَهُ سَاعَةً مِنَ الْعِشَاءِ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏ثُمَّ قَامَتْ تَنْقَلِبُ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏فَقَامَ مَعَهَا رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ يَقْلِبُهَا، ‏‏‏‏‏‏حَتَّى إِذَا بَلَغَتْ بَابَ الْمَسْجِدِ الَّذِي كَانَ عِنْدَ مَسْكَنِ أُمِّ سَلَمَةَ زَوْجِ النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏فَمَرَّ بِهِمَا رَجُلَانِ مِنْ الْأَنْصَارِ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏فَسَلَّمَا عَلَى رَسُولِ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏ثُمَّ نَفَذَا، ‏‏‏‏‏‏فَقَالَ لَهُمَا رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ:‏‏‏‏ عَلَى رِسْلِكُمَا إِنَّهَا صَفِيَّةُ بِنْتُ حُيَيٍّ ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏قَالَا:‏‏‏‏ سُبْحَانَ اللَّهِ يَا رَسُولَ اللَّهِ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏وَكَبُرَ عَلَيْهِمَا ذَلِكَ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏فَقَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ:‏‏‏‏ إِنَّ الشَّيْطَانَ يَجْرِي مِنِ ابْنِ آدَمَ مَجْرَى الدَّمِ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏وَإِنِّي خَشِيتُ أَنْ يَقْذِفَ فِي قُلُوبِكُمَا شَيْئًا .

ام المؤمنین صفیہ بنت حیی رضی اللہ عنہا سے روایت ہے کہ وہ رسول اللہ صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم سے ملنے کے لیے آئیں، اور آپ رمضان کے آخری عشرے میں مسجد کے اندر معتکف تھے، عشاء کے وقت کچھ دیر آپ سے باتیں کیں، پھر اٹھیں اور گھر جانے لگیں، آپ صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم بھی ان کے ساتھ انہیں پہنچانے کے لیے اٹھے، جب وہ مسجد کے دروازہ پہ پہنچیں جہاں پہ ام سلمہ رضی اللہ عنہا کی رہائش گاہ تھی تو قبیلہ انصار کے دو آدمی گزرے، ان دونوں نے آپ کو سلام کیا، پھر چل پڑے تو رسول اللہ صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم نے فرمایا: اپنی جگہ ٹھہرو، یہ صفیہ بنت حیی ( میری بیوی ) ہیں ان دونوں نے کہا: سبحان اللہ، یا رسول اللہ! اور یہ بات ان دونوں پہ گراں گزری، تو رسول اللہ صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم نے فرمایا: شیطان انسان کی رگوں میں خون کی طرح دوڑتا ہے، مجھے خدشہ ہوا کہ کہیں شیطان تمہارے دل میں کوئی غلط بات نہ ڈال دے ۱؎۔

Aishah said: “One of the wives of the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) observed I’tikaf with him, and she used to see red and yellow discharge, and sometime she would put a basin beneath her.”

It was narrated from Ibn ‘Abbas that: The Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) said concerning the person observing I’tikaf. “He is refraining from sin and he will be given a reward like that of one who does all kinds of good deeds.”

It was narrated from Abu Umamah that the Prophet (ﷺ) said: “Whoever spends the nights of the two ‘Eid in praying voluntary prayers, seeking reward from Allah, his heart will not die on the Day when hearts will die.”

Ibn Abbas(RAH) narrated that: the Prophet send Muadh to Yemen, and said: “You are going to some people among the People of the Book. Call them to bear witness that none has the right to be worshipped but Allah, and that I am the messenger of Allah. If they obey that, then tell them that Allah has enjoined upon them five prayers every day and night. If they obey that, then tell them that Allah has enjoined upon them charity (Zakat) from their wealth, to be taken from the rich and given to their poor. If they obey that, then beware of (taking) the best of their wealth. And beware of the supplication of the oppressed, for there is no barrier between and Allah.”

Abdullah bin Masud (RAH) narrated that: the Messenger of Allah said: “There is no one who does not pay Zakat on his wealth but a bald headed snake will be made to appear to him on the Day of Resurrection, until it encircles his neck.” Then the messenger of Allah recited the following Verse from the Book of Allah the Most High: “And let not those who covetously withhold of that which Allah had bestowed on them of His Bounty(wealth) think that is good for them”

Abu Dharr narrated that: the Messenger of Allah said: “There is no now owner of camels, sheeps or cattle who does not pay Zakat on them, but they will come on the Day of Resurrection as big and as fat as they ever were, butting him with their horns and trampling him with their hooves. Every time the of them has passed, the first of them will come back to him, until judgment is passed upon the people.”
