It was narrated that ‘Aishah said: “I said: ‘O Messenger of Allah, is Jihad obligatory for women?’ He said: “Yes: Upon them is a Jihad in which there is no fighting: Al-Hajj and Al-‘Umrah.”
حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو بَكْرِ بْنُ أَبِي شَيْبَةَ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ فُضَيْلٍ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏عَنْ حَبِيبِ بْنِ أَبِي عَمْرَةَ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏عَنْ عَائِشَةَ بِنْتِ طَلْحَةَ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏عَنْعَائِشَةَ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏قَالَتْ:‏‏‏‏ قُلْتُ:‏‏‏‏ يَا رَسُولَ اللَّهِ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏عَلَى النِّسَاءِ جِهَادٌ؟، ‏‏‏‏‏‏قَالَ:‏‏‏‏ نَعَمْ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏عَلَيْهِنَّ جِهَادٌ لَا قِتَالَ فِيهِ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏الْحَجُّ وَالْعُمْرَةُ .
ام المؤمنین عائشہ رضی اللہ عنہا کہتی ہیں کہ   میں نے عرض کیا: اللہ کے رسول! کیا عورتوں پر بھی جہاد ہے؟ آپ صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم نے فرمایا: ہاں، لیکن ان پر ایسا جہاد ہے جس میں لڑائی نہیں ہے اور وہ حج اور عمرہ ہے ۔

It was narrated from Ibn ‘Abbas that the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) heard a man saying: “Labbaik ‘an Shubrumah (Here I am (O Allah) on behalf of Shubrumah.” The Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) said: “Who is Shubrumah?” He said: “A relative of mine.” He said: “Have you ever performed Hajj?” He said: “No.” He said: “Then make this for yourself, then perform Hajj on behalf of Shubrumah.”

It was narrated from ‘Abdullah bin ‘Abbas that a woman from Khath’am came to the Prophet (ﷺ) and said: “O Messenger of Allah, my father is an old man who has become weak, and now the command of Allah has come for His slaves to perform Hajj, but he cannot do it. Will it discharge his duty if I perform it on his behalf?” The Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) said: “Yes.”
