Translation

It was narrated from ‘Abdullah bin ‘Amr that a man asked the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ): “O Messenger of Allah, which (aspect) of Islam is the best?” He said: “Offering food (to the needy) and greeting with Salam those whom you know and those whom you do not know.”

حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ رُمْحٍ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏أَنْبَأَنَا اللَّيْثُ بْنُ سَعْدٍ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏عَنْ يَزِيدَ بْنِ أَبِي حَبِيبٍ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏عَنْ أَبِي الْخَيْرِ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏عَنْ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ عَمْرٍو، ‏‏‏‏‏‏أَنَّ رَجُلًا سَأَلَ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ،‏‏‏‏ فَقَالَ:‏‏‏‏ يَا رَسُولَ اللَّهِ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏أَيُّ الْإِسْلَامِ خَيْرٌ؟ قَالَ:‏‏‏‏ تُطْعِمُ الطَّعَامَ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏وَتَقْرَأُ السَّلَامَ عَلَى مَنْ عَرَفْتَ وَمَنْ لَمْ تَعْرِفْ .

عبداللہ بن عمرو رضی اللہ عنہما سے روایت ہے کہ ایک شخص نے رسول اللہ صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم سے پوچھا اور عرض کیا: اللہ کے رسول! کون سا اسلام بہتر ہے ۱؎؟ آپ صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم نے فرمایا: کھانا کھلانا، ہر شخص کو سلام کرنا، چاہے اس کو پہچانتے ہو یا نہ پہچانتے ہو ۔

It was narrated from Jabir bin ‘Abdullah that the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) said: “The food of one person is sufficient for two, the food of two is sufficient for four, and the food for four is sufficient for eight.”
