Translation

It was narrated from Abu Hurairah that the Prophet (ﷺ) said: “If anyone of you goes to bed with a smell emanating from his hand, and he does not wash his hand, and something happens to him, he should not blame anyone but himself.”

حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ عَبْدِ الْمَلِكِ بْنِ أَبِي الشَّوَارِبِ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ الْعَزِيزِ بْنُ الْمُخْتَارِ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏حَدَّثَنَا سُهَيْلُ بْنُ أَبِي صَالِحٍ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏عَنْأَبِيهِ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏عَنِ النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ،‏‏‏‏ قَالَ:‏‏‏‏ إِذَا نَامَ أَحَدُكُمْ وَفِي يَدِهِ رِيحُ غَمَرٍ،‏‏‏‏ فَلَمْ يَغْسِلْ يَدَهُ،‏‏‏‏ فَأَصَابَهُ شَيْءٌ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏فَلَا يَلُومَنَّ إِلَّا نَفْسَهُ .

ابوہریرہ رضی اللہ عنہ کہتے ہیں کہ نبی اکرم صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم نے فرمایا: تم میں سے کوئی شخص جب اس حالت میں سوئے کہ اس کے ہاتھ میں چکنائی کی بو ہو، اور اس نے اپنا ہاتھ نہ دھویا ہو، پھر اسے کسی چیز نے نقصان پہنچایا تو وہ خود اپنے ہی کو ملامت کرے ۔

It was narrated that Asma’ bint Yazid said: “Some food was brought to the Prophet (ﷺ) and it was offered to us. We said: ‘We do not have any appetite for it.’ He said: ‘Do not combine hunger and lies.’”

It was narrated that Anas bin Malik – a man from the tribe of Banu ‘Abdul-Ashhal – said: * “I came to the Prophet (ﷺ) when he was eating breakfast and he said: ‘Come and eat.’ I said: ‘I am fasting. Alas! Would that I had eaten of the food of the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ).’”

It was narrated that ‘Abdullah bin Harith bin Jaz’ Az-Zubaidi said: “At the time of the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) we used to eat bread and meat in the mosque.”

It was narrated that Ibn ‘Umar said: “At the time of the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) we used to eat while walking, and drink while standing up.”

It was narrated that Anas said: “Umm Sulaim sent with me a basket of fresh dates for the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ), but I did not find him, as he had just gone out to a freed slave of his who had invited him and made food for him. I came to him and he was eating, and he called me to eat with him. He (the freed slave) had served him Tharid with meat and gourd, and he liked the gourd, so I started to collect the (pieces of) gourd and put them near him. When he had eaten he went back to him house and I put the basket (of dates) before him, and he started to eat them and share them, until he finished the last of them.”
