It was narrated that ‘Aishah said: “The family of Muhammad (ﷺ) never ate their fill of barley bread until he was taken (i.e. died).”
حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ بَشَّارٍ،‏‏‏‏ حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ جَعْفَرٍ،‏‏‏‏ حَدَّثَنَا شُعْبَةُ،‏‏‏‏ عَنْ أَبِي إِسْحَاق،‏‏‏‏ سَمِعْتُ عَبْدَ الرَّحْمَنِ بْنَ يَزِيدَيُحَدِّثُ،‏‏‏‏ عَنْ الْأَسْوَدِ،‏‏‏‏ عَنْ عَائِشَةَ،‏‏‏‏ قَالَتْ:‏‏‏‏ مَا شَبِعَ آلُ مُحَمَّدٍ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ مِنْ خُبْزِ الشَّعِيرِ،‏‏‏‏ حَتَّى قُبِضَ .
ام المؤمنین عائشہ رضی اللہ عنہا کہتی ہیں کہ   محمد صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم کے اہل و عیال نے کبھی بھی جو کی روٹی سیر ہو کر نہیں کھائی یہاں تک کہ آپ کی وفات ہو گئی۔
