It was narrated from 'Amir bin 'Abdullah bin Zubair that his father said: I said to Zubair bin Awwam: 'Why do I not hear you narrating Ahadith from the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) as I hear Ibn Mas'ud and so-and-so and so-and-so?' He said: 'I never left him from the time I became Muslim, but I heard him say a word: 'Whoever tells a lie about me deliberately, let him take his place in Hell.

حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو بَكْرِ بْنُ أَبِي شَيْبَةَ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏ وَمُحَمَّدُ بْنُ بَشَّارٍ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏قَالَا:‏‏‏‏ حَدَّثَنَا غُنْدَرٌ مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ جَعْفَرٍ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏حَدَّثَنَا شُعْبَةُ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏عَنْ جَامِعِ بْنِ شَدَّادٍ أَبِي صَخْرَةَ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏عَنْ عَامِرِ بْنِ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ الزُّبَيْرِ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏عَنْ أَبِيهِ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏قَالَ:‏‏‏‏ قُلْتُ لِلزُّبَيْرِ بْنِ الْعَوَّامِ:‏‏‏‏ مَا لِيَ لَا أَسْمَعُكَ تُحَدِّثُ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏عَنْ رَسُولِ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏كَمَا أَسْمَعُ ابْنَ مَسْعُودٍ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏وَفُلَانًا، ‏‏‏‏‏‏وَفُلَانًا؟ قَالَ:‏‏‏‏ أَمَا إِنِّي لَمْ أُفَارِقْهُ مُنْذُ أَسْلَمْتُ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏وَلَكِنِّي سَمِعْتُ مِنْهُ كَلِمَةً يَقُولُ:‏‏‏‏ مَنْ كَذَبَ عَلَيَّ مُتَعَمِّدًا، ‏‏‏‏‏‏فَلْيَتَبَوَّأْ مَقْعَدَهُ مِنَ النَّارِ .

عبداللہ بن زبیر رضی اللہ عنہما کہتے ہیں کہ میں نے زبیر بن عوام رضی اللہ عنہ سے کہا: کیا وجہ ہے کہ میں آپ کو رسول اللہ صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم سے حدیث بیان کرتے ہوئے نہیں سنتا جس طرح ابن مسعود اور فلاں فلاں کو سنتا ہوں؟ تو انہوں نے کہا: سنو! جب سے میں اسلام لایا نبی اکرم صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم سے جدا نہیں ہوا، لیکن میں نے آپ سے ایک بات سنی ہے، آپ صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم فرما رہے تھے: جو شخص میرے اوپر جان بوجھ کر جھوٹ باندھے وہ اپنا ٹھکانہ جہنم میں بنا لے ۔

It was narrated from Abu Sa'eed said: The Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) said: 'Whoever tells lies about me deliberately, let him take his place in Hell.

It was narrated from 'Ali that: The Prophet (ﷺ) said: ' Whoever narrates a Hadith from me thinking it to be false, then he is one of the two liars. (Either the one who invents a lie or the one who repeats it; both are liars).

It was narrated from Samurah bin Jundub that: The Prophet (ﷺ) said: ' Whoever narrated a Hadith from me thinking it to be false, then he is one of the two liars.

Yahya bin Abu Muta' said: I heard 'Irbad bin Sariyah say: 'One day, the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) stood up among us and delivered a deeply moving speech to us that melted our hearts and caused our eyes to overflow with tears. It was said to him: 'O Messenger of Allah, you have delivered a speech of farewell, so enjoin something upon us.' He said: 'I urge you to fear Allah, and to listen and obey, even if (your leader) is an Abyssinian slave. After I am gone, you will see great conflict. I urge you to adhere to my Sunnah and the path of the Rightly-Guided Caliphs, and cling stubbornly to it. And beware of newly-invented matters, for every innovation is a going astray.'
