It was narrated that Sahl bin Hunaif said: I used to suffer from a great deal of prostatic fluid, and I took many baths because of that. I asked the messenger of Allah about that, and he said: 'Ablution is sufficient for you in this case.' I said: 'O Messenger of Allah! What about the prostatic fluid that gets onto my clothes?' he said: 'it is sufficient for you to pour a handful of water on the part of your clothes wherever you see it has reached.'
حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو كُرَيْبٍ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ اللَّهِ بْنُ الْمُبَارَكِ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏ وَعَبْدَةُ بْنُ سُلَيْمَانَ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏عَنْ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ إِسْحَاق، ‏‏‏‏‏‏حَدَّثَنَا سَعِيدُ بْنُ عُبَيْدِ بْنِ السَّبَّاقِ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏عَنْ أَبِيهِ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏عَنْ سَهْلِ بْنِ حُنَيْفٍ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏قَالَ:‏‏‏‏ كُنْتُ أَلْقَى مِنَ الْمَذْيِ شِدَّةً فَأُكْثِرُ مِنْهُ الِاغْتِسَالَ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏فَسَأَلْتُ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ؟ فَقَالَ:‏‏‏‏ إِنَّمَا يُجْزِيكَ مِنْ ذَلِكَ الْوُضُوءُ ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏قُلْتُ:‏‏‏‏ يَا رَسُولَ اللَّهِ كَيْفَ بِمَا يُصِيبُ ثَوْبِي؟ قَالَ:‏‏‏‏ إِنَّمَا يَكْفِيكَ كَفٌّ مِنْ مَاءٍ تَنْضَحُ بِهِ مِنْ ثَوْبِكَ حَيْثُ تَرَى أَنَّهُ أَصَابَ .
سہل بن حنیف رضی اللہ عنہ کہتے ہیں کہ   مجھے شدت سے مذی آتی تھی جس کی وجہ سے میں کثرت سے غسل کیا کرتا تھا، چنانچہ میں نے رسول اللہ صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم سے پوچھا تو آپ نے فرمایا: اس سے وضو کافی ہے ، میں نے پوچھا: اللہ کے رسول! جو کپڑے میں لگ جائے اس کا حکم کیا ہے؟ تو آپ صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم نے فرمایا: تم ایک چلو پانی لو، اور جہاں پہ دیکھو کہ مذی لگ گئی ہے وہاں پہ چھڑک دو، بس یہ تمہارے لیے کافی ہو گا ۱؎۔

It was narrated from Ibn 'Abbas that: He came to Ubayy bin Ka'b accompanied by 'Umar. Ubayy came out to them and said: I noticed some prostatic fluid, so I washed my penis and performed ablution. 'Umar said: Is that sufficient? He said: Yes. He ('Umar) asked: Did you hear that from the messenger of Allah? He said: Yes.

It was narrated that Abu Ghutaif Al-Hudhali said: I was listening to 'Abdullah bin 'Umar bin Khattab in the mosque, and when the time for prayer came, he got up, performed ablution, and offered prayer, then he went back to where he had been sitting. When the time for 'Asr (Afternnon prayer) came, he got up, performed ablution, and offered prayer, then he went back to where he had been sitting. When the time for Maghrib (Sunset prayer) came, he got up, performed ablution, and offered prayer, then he went back to where he had been sitting. I said: 'May Allah improve you (i.e., your condition) Is it obligatory or Sunnah to perform ablution for every prayer?' He said: 'Did you notice that?' I said: 'Yes.' He said: 'No (it is not obligatory). If I perform ablution for Morning prayer I can perform all of the prayers with this ablution, so as long as I do not get impure. But I heard the Messenger of Allah say: Whoever performs ablution while he is pure, he will have ten merits. So I wanted to earn the merits.'
