It was narrated that 'Ali said: I never saw the Messenger of Allah mention his parents together for anyone except Sa'd bin Malik. He said to him on the Day of Uhud: 'Shoot, Sa'd! May my father and mother be sacrificed for you!'

حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ بَشَّارٍ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ جَعْفَرٍ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏حَدَّثَنَا شُعْبَةُ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏عَنْ سَعْدِ بْنِ إِبْرَاهِيمَ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏عَنْ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ شَدَّادٍ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏عَنْعَلِيٍّ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏قَالَ:‏‏‏‏ مَا رَأَيْتُ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ جَمَعَ أَبَوَيْهِ لِأَحَدٍ غَيْرَ سَعْدِ بْنِ مَالِكٍ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏فَإِنَّهُ قَالَ لَهُ يَوْمَ أُحُدٍ:‏‏‏‏ ارْمِ سَعْدُ فِدَاكَ أَبِي وَأُمِّي .

علی رضی اللہ عنہ کہتے ہیں کہ میں نے رسول اللہ صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم کو نہیں دیکھا کہ آپ نے سعد بن مالک ( سعد بن ابی وقاص ) رضی اللہ عنہ کے علاوہ کسی کے لیے اپنے والدین کو جمع کیا ہو، آپ صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم نے غزوہ احد کے دن سعد رضی اللہ عنہ سے کہا: اے سعد! تم تیر چلاؤ، میرے ماں اور باپ تم پر فدا ہوں ۱؎۔

It was narrated that Hashim bin Hashim said: I heard Sa'eed bin Musayyab say: 'Sa'd bin Abu Waqqas said: 'No one else became Muslim on the same day as I did; for seven days I was one-third of Islam.'

It was narrated that Sa'eed bin Zaid bin 'Amr bin Nufail said: The Messenger of Allah was one of the Ten (given glad tidings of Paradise). He said: 'Abu Bakr will be in Paradise; 'Umar will be in Paradise; 'Uthman will be in Paradise; 'Ali will be in Paradise; Talhah will be in Paradise; Zubair will be in Paradise; Sa'd will be in Paradise; 'Abdur-Rahman will be in Paradise. He was asked: 'Who will be the ninth?' He said: 'I will.'

It was narrated that Sa'eed bin Zaid: 'I bear witness that I heard the Messenger of Allah say: 'Stand firm, O (mountain of) Hira', for there is no one upon you but a Prophet, a Siddiq or a martyr.' Then he listed them as follows: The Messenger of Allah, Abu Bakr, 'Umar, 'Uthman, 'Ali, Talhah, Zubair, Sa'd, Ibn 'Awf and Sa'eed bin Zaid.

It was narrated from Hudhaifah that: The Messenger of Allah said to the people of Najran: I will send you a trustworthy man with you, who is indeed trustworthy. The people craned their necks to see, and he sent Abu 'Ubaidah bin Jarrah.
