It was narrated from Anas bin Malik that: The Messenger of Allah said: The most merciful of my Ummah towards my Ummah is Abu Bakr; the one who adheres most sternly to the religion of Allah is 'Umar; the most sincere of them in shyness and modesty is 'Uthman; the best judge is 'Ali bin Abu Talib; the best in reciting the Book of Allah is Ubayy bin Ka'b; the most knowledgeable of what is lawful and unlawful is Mu'adh bin Jabal; and the most knowledgeable of the rules of inheritance (Fara'id) is Zaid bin Thabit. And every nation has a trustworthy guardian, and the trustworthy guardian of this Ummah is Abu 'Ubaidah bin Jarrah.

َدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ الْمُثَنَّى، ‏‏‏‏‏‏حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ الْوَهَّابِ بْنُ عَبْدِ الْمَجِيدِ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏حَدَّثَنَا خَالِدٌ الْحَذَّاءُ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏عَنْ أَبِي قِلَابَةَ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏عَنْ أَنَسِ بْنِ مَالِكٍ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏أَنَّ ّرَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ قَالَ:‏‏‏‏ أَرْحَمُ أُمَّتِي بِأُمَّتِي أَبُو بَكْرٍ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏وَأَشَدُّهُمْ فِي دِينِ اللَّهِ عُمَرُ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏وَأَصْدَقُهُمْ حَيَاءً عُثْمَانُ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏وَأَقْضَاهُمْ عَلِيُّ بْنُ أَبِي طَالِبٍ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏وَأَقْرَؤُهُمْ لِكِتَابِ اللَّهِ أُبَيُّ بْنُ كَعْبٍ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏وَأَعْلَمُهُمْ بِالْحَلَالِ وَالْحَرَامِ مُعَاذُ بْنُ جَبَلٍ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏وَأَفْرَضُهُمْ زَيْدُ بْنُ ثَابِتٍ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏أَلَا وَإِنَّ لِكُلِّ أُمَّةٍ أَمِينًا، ‏‏‏‏‏‏وَأَمِينُ هَذِهِ الْأُمَّةِ أَبُو عُبَيْدَةَ بْنُ الْجَرَّاحِ ،‏‏‏‏

انس بن مالک رضی اللہ عنہ کہتے ہیں کہ رسول اللہ صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم نے فرمایا: میری امت میں سب سے زیادہ میری امت پر رحم کرنے والے ابوبکر ہیں، اللہ کے دین میں سب سے زیادہ سخت اور مضبوط عمر ہیں، حیاء میں سب سے زیادہ حیاء والے عثمان ہیں، سب سے بہتر قاضی علی بن ابی طالب ہیں، سب سے بہتر قاری ابی بن کعب ہیں، سب سے زیادہ حلال و حرام کے جاننے والے معاذ بن جبل ہیں، اور سب سے زیادہ فرائض ( میراث تقسیم ) کے جاننے والے زید بن ثابت ہیں، سنو! ہر امت کا ایک امین ہوا کرتا ہے، اور اس امت کے امین ابوعبیدہ بن جراح ہیں ۱؎۔

It was narrated that 'Abdullah bin 'Amr said: I heard the Messenger of Allah say: 'There is no one on earth, or under the sky, who speaks more truthfully than Abu Dharr.'

It was narrated that Bara' bin 'Azib said: The Messenger of Allah was given a gift of a length of silk fabric. The people started passing it around to one another. The Messenger of Allah said: 'Are you admiring this?' They said: 'Yes, O Messenger of Allah.' He said: 'By the One in Whose Hand is my soul! The handkerchief of Sa'd bin Mu'adh in Paradise is better than this.'

It was narrated that Jabir said: The Messenger of Allah said: 'The Throne of The Most Merciful trembled upon the death of Sa'd bin Mu'adh.'

It was narrated that Jarir bin 'Abdullah Al-Bajali said: The Messenger of Allah never refused to see me from the time I became Muslim, and whenever he saw me he would smile at me. I complained to him that I could not sit firmly on a horse, so he struck me on the chest with his hand and said: 'O Allah, make him firm and cause him to guide others and be rightly-guided.'

Rafi' bin Khadij said: Jibril or an angel came to the Prophet and said: 'How do you regard those among you who were present at Badr?' He said: 'They are the best among us.' He said: 'We think the same (of the angels who were present at Badr), they are the best of the angels.'
