Translation

It was narrated that ‘Abdullah bin Ja’far said: “When news of the death of Ja’far was brought, the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) said: ‘Prepare food for the family of Ja’far, for there has come to them that which is keeping them busy or something which is keeping them busy.”

حَدَّثَنَا هِشَامُ بْنُ عَمَّارٍ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏ وَمُحَمَّدُ بْنُ الصَّبَّاحِ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏قَالَا:‏‏‏‏ حَدَّثَنَا سُفْيَانُ بْنُ عُيَيْنَةَ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏عَنْ جَعْفَرِ بْنِ خَالِدٍ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏عَنْ أَبِيهِ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏عَنْعَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ جَعْفَرٍ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏قَالَ:‏‏‏‏ لَمَّا جَاءَ نَعْيُ جَعْفَرٍ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ:‏‏‏‏ اصْنَعُوا لِآلِ جَعْفَرٍ طَعَامًا فَقَدْ أَتَاهُمْ مَا يَشْغَلُهُمْ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏أَوْ أَمْرٌ يَشْغَلُهُمْ .

عبداللہ بن جعفر رضی اللہ عنہما کہتے ہیں کہ جعفر کی موت کی جب خبر آئی تو رسول اللہ صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم نے فرمایا: جعفر کے گھر والوں کے لیے کھانا تیار کرو، اس لیے کہ ان کے پاس ایسی خبر آئی ہے جس نے ان کو مشغول کر دیا ہے، یا ان کے پاس ایسا معاملہ آ پڑا ہے جو ان کو مشغول کئے ہوئے ہے ۔

Asma’ bint ‘Umais said: “When Ja’far was killed, the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) went to his family and said: ‘The family of Ja’far are busy with the matter of their deceased, so prepare food for them.’”

It was narrated that Jarir bin ‘Abdullah Al-Bajali said: “We used to think that gathering with the family of the deceased and preparing food was a form of wailing.”

It was narrated from Ibn ‘Abbas that the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) said: Dying in a strange land is martyrdom.”

It was narrated that ‘Abdullah bin ‘Amr said: “A man died in Al- Madinah, and he was one of those who were born in Al-Madinah. The Prophet (ﷺ) offered the funeral prayer for him and said: “Would that he had died somewhere other than his birthplace.” A man among the people said: “Why, O Messenger of Allah?” He said: “If a man dies somewhere other than his birthplace, a space will be measured for him in Paradise (as big as the distance) from the place where he was born to the place where he died.”

It was narrated from Abu Hurairah that the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) said: “Whoever dies from a sickness dies as a martyr. He is protected from the torment of the grave and he is granted provision from Paradise morning and evening.”
