It was narrated that Abu Hurairah said: A man from Banu Fazdrah came to the Messenger of Allah, and said: 'O Messenger of Allah, my wife has given birth to a black boy! The Messenger of Allah said: 'Do you have camels?' He said: 'Yes.' He said: 'What color are they?' He said: 'Red.' He said: 'Are there any grey ones among them?' He said: 'Yes, there are some grey ones among them.' He said: 'Where does that come from?' He said: 'Perhaps it is hereditary.' He said: 'Likewise, perhaps this is hereditary!

حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو بَكْرِ بْنُ أَبِي شَيْبَةَ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏ وَمُحَمَّدُ بْنُ الصَّبَّاحِ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏قَالَا:‏‏‏‏ حَدَّثَنَا سُفْيَانُ بْنُ عُيَيْنَةَ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏عَنْ الزُّهْرِيِّ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏عَنْ سَعِيدِ بْنِ الْمُسَيَّبِ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏قَالَ:‏‏‏‏ جَاءَ رَجُلٌ مِنْ بَنِي فَزَارَةَ إِلَى رَسُولِ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏فَقَالَ:‏‏‏‏ يَا رَسُولَ اللَّهِ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏إِنَّ امْرَأَتِي وَلَدَتْ غُلَامًا أَسْوَدَ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏فَقَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ:‏‏‏‏ هَلْ لَكَ مِنْ إِبِلٍ؟ ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏قَالَ:‏‏‏‏ نَعَمْ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏قَالَ:‏‏‏‏ فَمَا أَلْوَانُهَا؟ ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏قَالَ:‏‏‏‏ حُمْرٌ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏قَالَ:‏‏‏‏ هَلْ فِيهَا مِنْ أَوْرَقَ ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏قَالَ:‏‏‏‏ إِنَّ فِيهَا لَوُرْقًا، ‏‏‏‏‏‏قَالَ:‏‏‏‏ فَأَنَّى أَتَاهَا ذَلِكَ ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏قَالَ:‏‏‏‏ عَسَى عِرْقٌ نَزَعَهَا، ‏‏‏‏‏‏قَالَ:‏‏‏‏ وَهَذَا لَعَلَّ عِرْقًا نَزَعَهُ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏وَاللَّفْظُ لِابْنِ الصَّبَّاحِ.

ابوہریرہ رضی اللہ عنہ کہتے ہیں کہ قبیلہ بنی فزارہ کا ایک شخص رسول اللہ صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم کے پاس آیا اور کہنے لگا: اللہ کے رسول! میری بیوی نے ایک کالا کلوٹا بچہ جنا ہے! تو آپ صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم نے فرمایا: کیا تمہارے پاس اونٹ ہیں ؟ اس نے کہا: ہاں، آپ صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم نے فرمایا: ان کے رنگ کیا ہیں ؟ اس نے کہا: سرخ ہیں، آپ صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم نے فرمایا: کیا ان میں کوئی خاکی رنگ کا بھی ہے ؟ اس نے کہا: ہاں، ان میں خاکی رنگ کے بھی ہیں، آپ صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم نے فرمایا: ان میں خاکی رنگ کہاں سے آیا ؟ اس نے کہا: کسی رگ نے یہ رنگ کھینچ لیا ہو گا، آپ صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم نے فرمایا: یہاں بھی ( تیرے لڑکے میں ) کسی رگ نے یہ رنگ کھینچ لیا ہو گا ۱؎۔ یہ الفاظ محمد بن صباح کے ہیں۔

It was narrated from Ibn 'Umar that: a man frorn the desert people came to the Prophet and said: O Messenger of Allah, my wife has given birth on my bed to a black boy, and there are no black people among my family. He said: Do you have camels? He said: Yes. He said: What color are they? He said: Red. He said: are there any black ones among them? He said, No. He said: Are there any grey ones among them? He said- Yes. He said How is that? He said: Perhaps it is hereditary. He said: Perhaps (the color of) this son of yours is also hereditary.

It was narrated that 'Aishah said: Ibn Zam'ah and Sa'd (Ibn Abu Waqqas) referred a dispute to the Prophet concerning the son of Zam'ah's slave woman. Sa'd said : O Messenger of Allah my brother (Utbah bin Abu Waqqas) left instructions in his will that when I come to Makkah, I should look for the son of the slave woman of Zam'ah and take him into my care. 'Abd bin Zam’ah said: He is my brother and the son of the slave woman of my father; he was born on my father's bed. The Prophet ffi saw that he resembled 'Utbah, and said: He belongs to you, O 'Abd bin Zam'ah. The child is for the bed. Observe Hijab before him, O Saudah. (sahih)

It was narrated from 'Umar that: the Messenger of Allah ruled that the child belonged to the bed.

It was narrated from Abu Hurairah that: the Prophet said: The child is for the bed (i.e., belongs to the husband) and the fornicator gets nothing!'

Then her first husband came and said: O Messenger of Allah, I became Muslim with her, and she knew that I was Muslim. So the Messenger of Allah took her away from her second husband and returned her to her first husband.
