Translation

It was narrated from ‘Abdullah bin Abu Qatadah that his father said: “I went out with the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) at the time of Hudaibiyah, and his Companions entered Ihram, but I did not. I saw a donkey do I hunted it. I mentioned that to the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) and told him: ‘I had not entered Ihram, and I was hunting it for you.’ The Prophet (ﷺ) told his Companions to eat it, but he did not eat from it, because I told him that I had hunted it for him.”

حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ يَحْيَى، ‏‏‏‏‏‏حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ الرَّزَّاقِ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏أَنْبَأَنَا مَعْمَرٌ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏عَنْ يَحْيَى بْنِ أَبِي كَثِيرٍ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏عَنْ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ أَبِي قَتَادَةَ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏عَنْأَبِيهِ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏قَالَ:‏‏‏‏ خَرَجْتُ مَعَ رَسُولِ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ زَمَنَ الْحُدَيْبِيَةِ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏فَأَحْرَمَ أَصْحَابُهُ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏وَلَمْ أُحْرِمْ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏فَرَأَيْتُ حِمَارًا فَحَمَلْتُ عَلَيْهِ وَاصْطَدْتُهُ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏فَذَكَرْتُ شَأْنَهُ لِرَسُولِ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ وَذَكَرْتُ أَنِّي لَمْ أَكُنْ أَحْرَمْتُ وَأَنِّي إِنَّمَا اصْطَدْتُهُ لَكَ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏فَأَمَرَ النَّبِيُّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ أَصْحَابَهُ فَأَكَلُوا، ‏‏‏‏‏‏وَلَمْ يَأْكُلْ مِنْهُ حِينَ أَخْبَرْتُهُ أَنِّي اصْطَدْتُهُ لَهُ .

ابوقتادہ رضی اللہ عنہ کہتے ہیں کہ میں حدیبیہ کے زمانہ میں رسول اللہ صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم کے ساتھ نکلا، آپ کے صحابہ نے احرام باندھ لیا، اور میں بغیر احرام کے تھا، میں نے ایک نیل گائے دیکھی تو اس پر حملہ کر کے اس کا شکار کر لیا، پھر میں نے اس کا ذکر رسول اللہ صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم سے کیا، اور عرض کیا کہ میں بغیر احرام کے تھا، اور میں نے اس کا شکار آپ ہی کے لیے کیا ہے، یہ سن کر نبی اکرم صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم نے اپنے صحابہ سے کہا کہ وہ اسے کھا لیں، اور جب میں نے آپ کو یہ بتایا کہ یہ شکار میں نے آپ کے لیے کیا ہے تو آپ نے اس میں سے نہیں کھایا ۱؎۔

‘Aishah the wife of the Prophet (ﷺ) said; “The Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) used to send the sacrificial animal from Al-Madinah, and I would twist the garlands for his sacrificial animal, then, he would not (because of that) avoid the things that the one in Ihram avoids.”

It was narrated that ‘Aishah the wife of the Prophet (ﷺ) said: “I used to twist the garlands for the sacrificial animal of the Prophet (ﷺ), and his sacrificial animal would be garlanded and sent (to Makkah), and he would stay (in Al-Madinah) without avoiding any of the things that the one in Ihram avoids.”

It was narrated that ‘Aishah said: “On one occasion the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) sent sheep to the House, and he garlanded them.”

It was narrated from Ibn ‘Abbas that the Prophet (ﷺ) marked the sacrificial animal on the right side of the hump and wiped away the blood.

It was narrated from ‘Aishah that the Prophet (ﷺ) garlanded, and marked, and sent (the sacrificial animals), but he did not avoid anything that the one in Ihram avoids.

It was narrated that ‘Ali bin Abu Talib said: “The Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) commanded me to look after his sacrificial camels, to share out their covers and skins, and not to give the butcher any of it. He said: ‘We will give him (his wages).’”
