Translation

It was narrated that Najiyah Al-Khuza’i – in his narration, ‘Amr (one of the narrators) said that he was the one who looked after the sacrificial animals of the Prophet (ﷺ) – said: “I said: ‘O Messenger of Allah, what should I do with those sacrificial animals that become unfit?’ He said: ‘Slaughter them, dip its sandal in its blood, then place it on its side, and leave them for the people to eat.’”

حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو بَكْرِ بْنُ أَبِي شَيْبَةَ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏وَ عَلِيُّ بْنُ مُحَمَّدٍ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏وَ عَمْرُو بْنُ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏قَالُوا:‏‏‏‏ حَدَّثَنَا وَكِيعٌ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏عَنْ هِشَامِ بْنِ عُرْوَةَ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏عَنْ أَبِيهِ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏عَنْ نَاجِيَةَ الْخُزَاعِيِّ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏قَالَ عَمْرٌو فِي حَدِيثِهِ:‏‏‏‏ وَكَانَ صَاحِبَ بُدْنِ النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏قَالَ:‏‏‏‏ قُلْتُ:‏‏‏‏ يَا رَسُولَ اللَّهِ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏كَيْفَ أَصْنَعُ بِمَا عَطِبَ مِنَ الْبُدْنِ؟، ‏‏‏‏‏‏قَالَ:‏‏‏‏ انْحَرْهُ وَاغْمِسْ نَعْلَهُ فِي دَمِهِ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏ثُمَّ اضْرِبْ صَفْحَتَهُ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏وَخَلِّ بَيْنَهُ وَبَيْنَ النَّاسِ فَلْيَأْكُلُوهُ .

ناجیہ خزاعی رضی اللہ عنہ (جو نبی اکرم صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم کے ہدی کے اونٹ لے جایا کرتے تھے) کہتے ہیں کہ میں نے پوچھا: اللہ کے رسول! ہدی کا جو اونٹ تھک کر مرنے کے قریب ہو جائے اسے میں کیا کروں؟ آپ صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم نے فرمایا: اس کو نحر ( ذبح ) کر ڈالو، اور اس کی جوتی اسی کے خون میں ڈبو کر اس کے پٹھے میں مار لگا دو، پھر اس کو چھوڑ دو کہ لوگ اسے کھائیں ۔

It was narrated that ‘Alqamah bin Nadlah said: “The Messenger of Allah (ﷺ), Abu Bakr and ‘Umar died, and the houses in Makkah were still called free. Whoever needed to, lived there, and whoever had no need of them allowed others to live there (without asking for rent).”

Abu Salamah bin ‘Abdur-Rahman bin ‘Awf narrated that ‘Abdullah bin ‘Adiy bin Hamra’ said to him: “I saw the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ), when he was on his she-camel, standing in Al-Hazwarah* saying: ‘By Allah, you are the best land of Allah, and the dearest of the land of Allah to me. By Allah, had I not been expelled from you I would never have left.’” *A place in Makkah.

It was narrated that Safiyyah bint Shaibah said: “I heard the Prophet (ﷺ) delivering a sermon in the Year of the Conquest (of Makkah), and he said: ‘O people, Allah made Makkah sacred the day He created the heavens and the earth, and it is sacred until the Day of Resurrection. Its trees are not to be cut, its game is not to be disturbed, and its lost property is not to be taken except by one who will announce it.’‘Abbas said: ‘Except for Idhkhir (a kind of fragrant grass), for it is (used) for houses and graves.’ The messenger of Allah (ﷺ) said: ‘Except for Idhkhir.’”

It was narrated from ‘Ayyash bin Abu Rabi’ah (Makhzumi) that the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) said: ‘The goodness of this nation will not cease as long as they revere this sanctuary* as it is due. But when they lose that reverence, they will be doomed.”

it was narrated from Abu Hurairah that the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) said: “Faith will retreat to Al-Madinah as a snake retreats to its hole.”
