It was narrated that Abu Hurairah said: A Bedouin entered the mosque when the Messenger of Allah was sitting there, and (the man) said: 'O Allah, forgive me and Muhammed, and do not forgive anyone else with us.' The Messenger of Allah smiled and said: 'You have placed restrictions on something that is vast.' Then the Bedouin turned away, went to a corner of the mosque, spread his legs and began to urinate. After he had a better understanding, the Bedouin said: 'He got up and came to me, and may my father and mother be ransomed for him, he did not rebuke me nor revile me. He said: This mosque is not for urinating in. Rather it is built for the remembrance of Allah and prayer.' Then he called for a large vessel of water and poured it over the place where he had urinated.

حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو بَكْرِ بْنُ أَبِي شَيْبَةَ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏حَدَّثَنَا عَلِيُّ بْنُ مُسْهِرٍ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏عَنْ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ عَمْرٍو، ‏‏‏‏‏‏عَنْ أَبِي سَلَمَةَ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏قَالَ:‏‏‏‏ دَخَلَ أَعْرَابِيٌّ الْمَسْجِدَ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏وَرَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ جَالِسٌ فَقَالَ:‏‏‏‏ اللَّهُمَّ اغْفِرْ لِي، ‏‏‏‏‏‏وَلِمُحَمَّدٍ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏وَلَا تَغْفِرْ لِأَحَدٍ مَعَنَا، ‏‏‏‏‏‏فَضَحِكَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ وَقَالَ:‏‏‏‏ لَقَدِ احْتَظَرْتَ وَاسِعًا ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏ثُمَّ وَلَّى، ‏‏‏‏‏‏حَتَّى إِذَا كَانَ فِي نَاحِيَةِ الْمَسْجِدِ فَشَجَ يَبُولُ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏فَقَالَ الْأَعْرَابِيُّ بَعْدَ أَنْ فَقِهَ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏فَقَامَ:‏‏‏‏ إِلَيَّ بِأَبِي وَأُمِّي، ‏‏‏‏‏‏فَلَمْ يُؤَنِّبْ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏وَلَمْ يَسُبَّ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏فَقَالَ:‏‏‏‏ إِنَّ هَذَا الْمَسْجِدَ لَا يُبَالُ فِيهِ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏وَإِنَّمَا بُنِيَ لِذِكْرِ اللَّهِ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏وَلِلصَّلَاةِ ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏ثُمَّ أَمَرَ بِسَجْلٍ مِنْ مَاءٍ فَأُفْرِغَ عَلَى بَوْلِهِ .

ابوہریرہ رضی اللہ عنہ کہتے ہیں کہ ایک اعرابی ( دیہاتی ) مسجد میں داخل ہوا، رسول اللہ صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم بیٹھے ہوئے تھے، اس نے کہا: اے اللہ! میری اور محمد صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم کی مغفرت فرما دے، اور ہمارے ساتھ کسی اور کی مغفرت نہ کر، رسول اللہ صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم مسکرائے اور فرمایا: تم نے ایک کشادہ چیز ( یعنی اللہ کی مغفرت ) کو تنگ کر دیا ، پھر وہ دیہاتی پیٹھ پھیر کر چلا، اور جب مسجد کے ایک گوشہ میں پہنچا تو ٹانگیں پھیلا کر پیشاب کرنے لگا، پھر دین کی سمجھ آ جانے کے بعد ( یہ قصہ بیان کر کے ) دیہاتی نے کہا: میرے ماں باپ آپ صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم پر قربان ہوں، مجھے نہ تو آپ نے ڈانٹا، نہ برا بھلا کہا، صرف یہ فرمایا: یہ مسجد پیشاب کی جگہ نہیں ہے بلکہ یہ اللہ کے ذکر اور نماز کے لیے بنائی گئی ہے پھر آپ صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم نے ایک ڈول پانی لانے کا حکم دیا، تو وہ اس کے پیشاب پر بہا دیا گیا۔

It was narrated that Wathilah bin Asqa' said: A Bedouin came to the Prophet and said: 'O Allah, have mercy on me and Muhammed, and do not allow anyone else to share in your Mercy.' The Prophet said: 'You have placed restrictions on something that is vast, woe to you!' Then he (the Bedouin) spread his legs and urinated, and the Companions of the Prophet told him to stop, but the Messenger of Allah said: 'Let him be,' then he called for a vessel of water and poured it over (the urine).

It was narrated that Umm Salamah, the wife of the Prophet, said: I am a woman whose hem is lengthy, and I may walk through a dirty place. The Messenger of Allah said: 'That which comes after it purifies it.'

It was narrated that Abu Hurairah said: It was said: O Messenger of Allah, we want to come to the mosque, but the path that we walk upon is impure. The Messenger of Allah said: Some parts of the earth purify others.

It was narrated that a woman from (the tribe of) Banu 'Abdul-Ashhal said: I said to the prophet: 'Between the mosque and I there is a filthy path.' He said: 'After that is there a cleaner path?' I said: 'Yes.' He said: 'This is (a remedy) for that.'

It was narrated from Abu Rafi' that : Abu Hurairah was met by the Prophet in one of the streets of Al-Madinah when he was in a state of sexual impurity, so he slipped away. The Prophet missed him, so when he came (later on), he said: 'Where were you O Abu Hurairah?' He said: 'O Messenger of Allah, you met me when I was in a state of sexual impurity, and I did not want to sit with you until I had a bath. The Messenger of Allah said: 'The believer does not become impure.'

It was narrated that Hudhaifah said: The Prophet came out and met me when I was sexually impure, so I kept away from him. Then I had a bath and came to him. He said: 'What is the matter with you?' I said: 'I was sexually impure.' The Messenger of Allah said: 'The Muslim does not become impure.'
