It was narrated that Abu Sa'eed Khudri said: The Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) said: 'When Allah has saved the believers from Hell and they are safe, none of you will dispute with his companion more vehemently for some right of his in this world than the believers will dispute with their Lord on behalf of their brothers in faith who have entered Hell. They will say: Our Lord! They are our brothers, they used to pray with us, fast with us and perform Hajj with us, and you have admitted them to Hell. He will say: Go and bring forth those whom you recognize among them. So they will come to them , and they will recognize them by their faces. The Fire will not consume their faces, although there will be some whom the Fire will seize halfway up their shins, and others whom it will seize up to their ankles. They will bring them forth, and will say. Our Lord, we have brought forth those whom You commanded us to bring forth. Then He will say: Bring forth those who have a Dinar's weight of faith in their hearts, then those who have half a Dinar's weight in their hearts, then those who have a mustard-seed's weight. Abu Sa'eed said. : He who does not believe this, let him recite, 'Surely, Allah wrongs not even of the weight of an atom (or a small ant), but is there is any good (done), He doubles it, and gives from Him a great reward.'

حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ يَحْيَى، ‏‏‏‏‏‏حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ الرَّزَّاقِ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏أَنْبَأَنَا مَعْمَرٌ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏عَنْ زَيْدِ بْنِ أَسْلَمَ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏عَنْ عَطَاءِ بْنِ يَسَارٍ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏عَنْ أَبِي سَعِيدٍ الْخُدْرِيِّ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏قَالَ:‏‏‏‏ قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ:‏‏‏‏ إِذَا خَلَّصَ اللَّهُ الْمُؤْمِنِينَ مِنِ النَّارِ وَأَمِنُوا، ‏‏‏‏‏‏فَمَا مُجَادَلَةُ أَحَدِكُمْ لِصَاحِبِهِ فِي الْحَقِّ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏يَكُونُ لَهُ فِي الدُّنْيَا أَشَدَّ مُجَادَلَةً مِنَ الْمُؤْمِنِينَ لِرَبِّهِمْ فِي إِخْوَانِهِمُ الَّذِينَ أُدْخِلُوا النَّارَ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏قَالَ:‏‏‏‏ يَقُولُونَ:‏‏‏‏ رَبَّنَا إِخْوَانُنَا كَانُوا يُصَلُّونَ مَعَنَا، ‏‏‏‏‏‏وَيَصُومُونَ مَعَنَا، ‏‏‏‏‏‏وَيَحُجُّونَ مَعَنَا فَأَدْخَلْتَهُمُ النَّارَ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏فَيَقُولُ:‏‏‏‏ اذْهَبُوا فَأَخْرِجُوا مَنْ عَرَفْتُمْ مِنْهُمْ فَيَأْتُونَهُمْ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏فَيَعْرِفُونَهُمْ بِصُوَرِهِمْ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏لَا تَأْكُلُ النَّارُ صُوَرَهُمْ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏فَمِنْهُمْ مَنْ أَخَذَتْهُ النَّارُ إِلَى أَنْصَافِ سَاقَيْهِ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏وَمِنْهُمْ مَنْ أَخَذَتْهُ إِلَى كَعْبَيْهِ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏فَيُخْرِجُونَهُمْ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏فَيَقُولُونَ:‏‏‏‏ رَبَّنَا أَخْرَجْنَا مَنْ قَدْ أَمَرْتَنَا، ‏‏‏‏‏‏ثُمَّ يَقُولُ:‏‏‏‏ أَخْرِجُوا مَنْ كَانَ فِي قَلْبِهِ وَزْنُ دِينَارٍ مِنَ الْإِيمَانِ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏ثُمَّ مَنْ كَانَ فِي قَلْبِهِ وَزْنُ نِصْفِ دِينَارٍ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏ثُمَّ مَنْ كَانَ فِي قَلْبِهِ مِثْقَالُ حَبَّةٍ مِنْ خَرْدَلٍ ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏قَالَ أَبُو سَعِيدٍ:‏‏‏‏ فَمَنْ لَمْ يُصَدِّقْ هَذَا فَلْيَقْرَأْ إِنَّ اللَّهَ لا يَظْلِمُ مِثْقَالَ ذَرَّةٍ وَإِنْ تَكُ حَسَنَةً يُضَاعِفْهَا وَيُؤْتِ مِنْ لَدُنْهُ أَجْرًا عَظِيمًا سورة النساء آية 40.

ابو سعید خدری رضی اللہ عنہ کہتے ہیں کہ رسول اللہ صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم نے فرمایا: جب اللہ تعالیٰ مومنوں کو جہنم سے نجات دیدے گا، اور وہ امن میں ہو جائیں گے تو وہ اپنے ان بھائیوں کی نجات کے لیے جو جہنم میں داخل کر دئیے گئے ہوں گے، اپنے رب سے ایسی بحث و تکرار کریں گے ۱؎ کہ کسی نے دنیا میں اپنے حق کے لیے اپنے ساتھی سے بھی ویسا نہیں کیا ہو گا ۔ آپ صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم نے فرمایا: وہ عرض کریں گے: اے ہمارے رب! یہ ہمارے بھائی ہیں جو ہمارے ساتھ نماز پڑھتے تھے، روزہ رکھتے تھے، اور حج کرتے تھے، تو نے ان کو جہنم میں داخل کر دیا! اللہ تعالیٰ فرمائے گا: جاؤ ان میں سے جنہیں تم پہچانتے ہو نکال لو ، وہ مومن ان جہنمیوں کے پاس آئیں گے، اور انہیں ان کے چہروں سے پہچان لیں گے، آگ ان کی صورتوں کو نہیں کھائے ہو گی، کسی کو آگ نے اس کی آدھی پنڈلیوں تک اور کسی کو ٹخنوں تک پکڑ لیا ہو گا، پھر وہ مومن ان کو جہنم سے نکالیں گے اور عرض کریں گے: اے ہمارے رب! جن کو تو نے نکالنے کا حکم دیا تھا ہم نے ان کو نکال لیا، پھر اللہ تعالیٰ فرمائے گا: جس شخص کے دل میں ایک دینار کے برابر ایمان ہو اس کو بھی جہنم سے نکال لو، پھر جس کے دل میں آدھا دینار کے برابر ایمان ہو، پھر جس کے دل میں رائی کے دانے کے برابر ایمان ہو ۔ ابو سعید خدری رضی اللہ عنہ کہتے ہیں: جس کو اس پر یقین نہ آئے وہ اس آیت کو پڑھ لے: «إن الله لا يظلم مثقال ذرة وإن تك حسنة يضاعفها ويؤت من لدنه أجرا عظيما» یعنی: بیشک اللہ تعالیٰ ذرہ برابر ظلم نہیں کرتا، اور اگر نیکی ہو تو اسے دوگنا کر دیتا ہے، اور اپنے پاس سے بہت بڑا ثواب دیتا ہے ( سورة النساء: 40 ) ۲؎۔

It was narrated that Jundub bin 'Abdullah said: We were with the Prophet (ﷺ), and we were strong youths, so we learned faith before we learned Qur'an. Then we learned Qur'an and our faith increased thereby.

It was narrated that Ibn 'Abbas said: The Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) said: 'There are two types of people among this Ummah who have no share of Islam: The Murji'ah and the Qadariyyah.'

It was narrated that 'Umar said: We were sitting with the Prophet (ﷺ) when a man came to him whose clothes were intensely white and whose hair was intensely black; no signs of travel could be seen upon him, and none of us recognized him. He sat down facing the Prophet (ﷺ), with his knees touching his, and he put his hands on his thighs, and said: 'O Muhammad, what is Islam?' He said: 'To testify that none has the right to be worshipped but Allah, and that I am the Messenger of Allah, to establish regular prayer, to pay Zakat, to fast in Ramadan, and to perform Hajj to the House (the Ka'bah).' He said: 'You have spoken the truth.' We were amazed by him: He asked a question, then told him that he had spoken the truth. Then he said: 'O Muhammad, what is Iman faith? He said: 'To believe in Allah, His angels, His Messengers, His books, the Last day, and the Divine Decree (Qadar), both the good of it and the bad of it.' He said' You have spoken the truth.' We were amazed by him. He asked a question, then told him that he had spoken the truth. Then he said: 'O Muhammad, what is Ihsan (right action, goodness, sincerity)? He said: 'To worship Allah as if you see Him, for even though you do not see Him, He sees you.' He asked: When will the Hour be?' He said: 'The one who is being asked about it does not know more than the one who is asking.' He asked: 'Then what are its signs?' he said: 'When the slave woman gives birth to her mistress' (Waki' said: This means when non-Arabs will give birth to Arabs ) 'and when you see barefoot, naked, destitute shepherds competing in constructing tall buildings.' The Prophet (ﷺ) met me three days later and asked me: 'Do you know who that man was? I said 'Allah and his Messenger know best.' He said: 'That was Jibril, who came to you to teach you your religion.'

It was narrated that Abu Hurairah said: One day the Prophet (ﷺ) appeared among the people. A man came to him and said: 'O messenger of Allah, what is Iman (faith)?' He said: 'To believe in Allah, His angels, His books, His Messengers and the meeting with, and to believe in the Final Resurrection.' He said: 'O Messenger of Allah, what is Islam?' He said: 'To worship Allah (alone) and not to associate anything with Him; to establish the prescribed prayers, to pay the obligatory Zakat, and to fast Ramadan.' He said: 'O Messenger of Allah, what is Ihsan? He said: 'To worship Allah as if you see Him, for even though you do not see Him, He sees you.' He said: O Messenger of Allah, when will the Hour be?' He said: 'The one who is being asked about it does not know more than the one who is asking. But I will tell you about its signs. When the slave woman gives birth to her mistress that is one of its signs. When the shepherds compete in constructing tall buildings that is one of its signs. And there are five things which no one knows except Allah.' Then the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) recited the Verse: Verily, Allah, with Him (Alone) is the knowledge of the Hour, He sends down the rain, and knows that which is in the wombs. No person knows what he will earn tomorrow, and no person knows in what land he will die. Verily, Allah is All-Knower, All-Aware (of things).

It was narrated that 'Ali bin Abu Talib said: The Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) said: 'Faith is knowledge in the heart, words on the tongue and action with the physical faculties. (limbs of the body).' (Maudu')

It was narrated from Anas bin Malik that: The Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) said: 'None of you truly believes until he loves for his brother or he said for his neighbor, what he loves for himself.
