Narrated Abdullah ibn Amr ibn al-As: The Prophet صلی ‌اللہ ‌علیہ ‌وسلم said: Three types of people attend Friday prayer; One is present in a frivolous way and that is all he gets from it; another comes with a supplication, Allah may grant or refuse his request as He wishes; another is present silently and quietly with-out stepping over a Muslim or annoying anyone, and that is an atonement for his sins till the next Friday and three days more, the reason being that Allah, the Exalted, says: He who does a good deed will have ten times as much (vi. 160).

حَدَّثَنَا مُسَدَّدٌ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏وَأَبُو كَامِلٍ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏قَالَا:‏‏‏‏ حَدَّثَنَا يَزِيدُ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏عَنْ حَبِيبٍ الْمُعَلِّمِ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏عَنْ عَمْرِو بْنِ شُعَيْبٍ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏عَنْ أَبِيهِ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏عَنْ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ عَمْرٍو، ‏‏‏‏‏‏عَنِ النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏قَالَ:‏‏‏‏ يَحْضُرُ الْجُمُعَةَ ثَلَاثَةُ نَفَرٍ:‏‏‏‏ رَجُلٌ حَضَرَهَا يَلْغُو وَهُوَ حَظُّهُ مِنْهَا، ‏‏‏‏‏‏وَرَجُلٌ حَضَرَهَا يَدْعُو فَهُوَ رَجُلٌ دَعَا اللَّهَ عَزَّ وَجَلَّ إِنْ شَاءَ أَعْطَاهُ وَإِنْ شَاءَ مَنَعَهُ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏وَرَجُلٌ حَضَرَهَا بِإِنْصَاتٍ وَسُكُوتٍ وَلَمْ يَتَخَطَّ رَقَبَةَ مُسْلِمٍ وَلَمْ يُؤْذِ أَحَدًا فَهِيَ كَفَّارَةٌ إِلَى الْجُمُعَةِ الَّتِي تَلِيهَا وَزِيَادَةِ ثَلَاثَةِ أَيَّامٍ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏وَذَلِكَ بِأَنَّ اللَّهَ عَزَّ وَجَلَّ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏يَقُولُ:‏‏‏‏ مَنْ جَاءَ بِالْحَسَنَةِ فَلَهُ عَشْرُ أَمْثَالِهَا سورة الأنعام آية 160 .

عبداللہ بن عمرو رضی اللہ عنہما کہتے ہیں کہ نبی اکرم صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم نے فرمایا: جمعہ میں تین طرح کے لوگ حاضر ہوتے ہیں: ایک آدمی وہ جو جمعہ میں حاضر ہو کر لغو و بیہودہ گفتگو کرے، اس میں سے اس کا حصہ یہی ہے ۱؎، دوسرا آدمی وہ ہے جو اس میں حاضر ہو کر اللہ سے دعا کرے تو وہ ایک ایسا آدمی ہے جس نے اللہ سے دعا کی ہے اگر وہ چاہے تو اسے دے اور چاہے تو نہ دے، تیسرا وہ آدمی ہے جو حاضر ہو کر خاموشی سے خطبہ سنے، نہ کسی مسلمان کی گردن پھاندے، نہ کسی کو تکلیف دے، تو یہ اس کے لیے اس جمعہ سے لے کر دوسرے جمعہ تک کے اور مزید تین دن تک کے گناہوں کا کفارہ ہو گا کیونکہ اللہ فرماتا ہے: جو نیکی کرے گا تو اسے اس کا دس گنا ثواب ملے گا ۔

Narrated Aishah, Ummul Muminin: The Prophet صلی ‌اللہ ‌علیہ ‌وسلم said: When one of you becomes defiled during prayer, he should hold his nose and then turn away. Abu Dawud said: This tradition has been narrated by Hammad bin Salamah and Abu Usamah from Hisham on the authority of his father from the Prophet صلی ‌اللہ ‌علیہ ‌وسلم. They did not mention the name of Aishah.

Jabir said: I came (to the mouse) while the Prophet صلی ‌اللہ ‌علیہ ‌وسلم was giving the (Friday) sermon. He asked: Did you pray, so-and-so? He replied: No. He said: Stand and pray.

Jabir and Abu Salih reported on the authority of Abu Hurairah: Sulaik al-Ghatafani came (to the mosque) while the Messenger of Allah صلی ‌اللہ ‌علیہ ‌وسلم was giving the (Friday) sermon. He asked him: Did you pray something ? He said: No. He said: Offer two rak'ahs and make them short.

This tradition has also been transmitted through a different chain of narrators by Jabir bin Abdullah. This version adds: He (the Prophet) turned to the people and said: When one of you comes (on Friday) while the imam is preaching, he should pray two rak'ahs and make them short.

Abu al-Zahiriyyah said: We were in the company of Abdullah bin Busr, the Companion of the Prophet صلی ‌اللہ ‌علیہ ‌وسلم, on a Friday. A man came and stepped over the people. Abdullah bin Busr said: A man came and stepped over the people while the Prophet صلی ‌اللہ ‌علیہ ‌وسلم was giving the sermon on Friday. The Prophet صلی ‌اللہ ‌علیہ ‌وسلم said: Sit down, you have annoyed (the people).
