It was narrated that Sahl bin Sa'd As-Sa'idi said: “Abu Usaid As-Sa'idi invited the Messenger of Allah to his wedding, and the bride herself served them. She said: 'Do you know what I gave the Messenger of Allah to drink? I had soaked some dates the night before, then in the morning I strained them and gave him that water to drink.' ”

حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ الصَّبَّاحِ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏أَنْبَأَنَا عَبْدُ الْعَزِيزِ بْنُ أَبِي حَازِمٍ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏حَدَّثَنِي أَبِي، ‏‏‏‏‏‏عَنْ سَهْلِ بْنِ سَعْدٍ السَّاعِدِيِّ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏قَالَ:‏‏‏‏ دَعَا أَبُو أُسَيْدٍ السَّاعِدِيُّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ إِلَى عُرْسِهِ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏فَكَانَتْ خَادِمَهُمُ الْعَرُوسُ، ‏‏‏‏‏‏قَالَتْ:‏‏‏‏ تَدْرِي مَا سَقَيْتُ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ؟، ‏‏‏‏‏‏قَالَتْ:‏‏‏‏ أَنْقَعْتُ تَمَرَاتٍ مِنَ اللَّيْلِ فَلَمَّا أَصْبَحْتُ صَفَّيْتُهُنَّ فَأَسْقَيْتُهُنَّ إِيَّاهُ .

سہل بن سعد ساعدی رضی اللہ عنہ کہتے ہیں کہ ابواسید ساعدی رضی اللہ عنہ نے رسول اللہ صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم کو اپنی شادی میں بلایا، تو سب لوگوں کی خدمت دلہن ہی نے کی، وہ دلہن کہتی ہیں: جانتے ہو میں نے رسول اللہ صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم کو کیا پلایا؟ میں نے چند کھجوریں رات کو بھگو دی تھیں، صبح کو میں نے ان کو صاف کیا، اور آپ صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم کو ان کا شربت پلایا۔

It was narrated that Abu Hurairah said: “The worst of food is food of a wedding feast to which the rich are invited and the poor are not. Whoever does not accept an invitation has disobeyed Allah and His Messenger.' ”

It was narrated from Al-Harith from his father that when when the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) married Umm Salamah, he stayed with her for three days, then he said: “You are not insignificant in your husband's eyes. If you wish, I will stay with you for seven days, but then I will stay with my other wives for seven days too.”

It was narrated from 'Abdullah bin 'Amr: that the Prophet said: “When anyone of you gets a new wife, a servant, or an animal, let him take hold of the forelock and say: Allahumma inni as`aluka min khayriha wa khayri ma jubilat 'alaihi, wa 'audhu bika min sharriha wa sharri ma jubilat `alaih (O Allah, I ask You for the goodness within her and the goodness that she is inclined towards, and I seek refuge with you from the evil to which she is inclined).' ”
